The screen turns on and a female Kusarian appears, her hair, face and clothes drenched in half-dried blood.
She's breathing heavily as her strongly raising and lowering torso shows.
"I could escape, sisters.
And I made sure they'd suffer, just as we do for centuries now. Letting them bleed out their essence, one drop for every single sister in Kusari, one drop for every single right they stole from us, one drop for every single injustice commited against us."
She looks at the camera with empty eyes and begins to wipe over her bloody face in an attempt to clean it, only resulting in mixing the stranger's essence on her hand with that on her face.
She begins to breathe easier.
"I will make my way to our biodome, home. I will finally be able to embrace my beloved one and to hear her little heart beat again, strong, steady and full of willpower, just as we are. You will find me there, studying Matsuda's teachings further, as I was instructed before I... left."
The Kusarian reaches forward to end the transmission and closely stares into the camera.
A middle-aged Kusarian woman sits at her desk, central in the camera's view. She is pouring a cup of tea as she speaks, a voice that is soft but strong in it's delivery.
"Konnichiwa Munen-kun,
I am Hana Ken, it has been far too long, and I believe I can speak on behalf of all of us that it is a welcome sight to see you've escaped from Fuchu."
Hana raises the cup to the camera as a toast, sips from it, and then settles it back down on the desk. She leans back into her chair, not looking directly at the camera as she speaks, but just to one side.
"You will find your family on Ainu Depot, not on Chanai itself. There were complications; after the attack on the Biodome by Alliance vessels the station was unstable for a time and many families were relocated. Your daughter waits for you there, as strong in body and mind as ever - she'll make Matsuda proud I'm sure."
"I see you've been getting some practice in." The woman laughs, revealing scars running up her neck. "Good. Once you have settled back in, I would like to meet you, Munen-kun. Your previous work as a Chrysanthemum up until your capture is impressive, and the Sisterhood of Dreams may have an offer for you. Kusari is a fast-changing landscape, in need of our intervention if it is to have any hope of a Revolution in Bloom."
Hana sits up at the desk, and motions towards the console. As the screen fades to black, she recites in a warm tone.
"The wind may carry the seed far, yet shall it always return to the Earth."
The younger woman stands in the middle of a hangar. By now she wears a clearly already used, worn off, but at least clean jumpsuit. She looks directly at the camera and begins to bow slowly and respectfully. Once she arises again strands of her slightly curly and wet hair fall loosely infront of her brown eyes.
"Konbanwa, ogenki desu ka, Hana-sama? As you can see I arrived at Battleship Matsuda and requested a proper vessel to journey towards Ainu Depot. Domo arigato gozaimasu to you and the other sisters for taking care of my little heart."
The woman's face crinkles and her eyes become slightly glazed. She bows again and continues to speak. Her soft voice has a light shaky undertone.
"Gomennasai, Hana-sama, for dishonoring the sisterhood and Matsuda herself by not following her example when I was in captivity. I had not a single opportunity to perform the ritual in a way worthy of her or the sisterhood."
She looks deeply apologetic and regretful into the camera and is on the verge of tears, followed by her looking down on the ground in shame. Still looking on the ground she continues with her miserable sounding and shaky voice.
"Domo arigato gozaimasu for still welcoming me back with open arms and no sign of holding a grudge against me or my deficiencies. I promise I will do better and be ready if my time might come to follow Matsuda for the matriarchy."
The Kusarian woman clearly struggles to keep her composure and hastily steps towards the recording device she is using to turn it off.
"A free thought can't be kept contained forever, it always will find its way to a listener."
