In the aftermath of the incursion into Major, I returned to Liberty, but was contacted by an Order operative who had survived the engagement. They wished to meet in California, where they were identified to be Colonel Jeremy Hunter of the Order Overwatch. They had survived the engagement, and had taken an anomaly that lead them back to Liberty space.
We conversed for a time, where Colonel Hunter expressed his wish for Liberty to side with the Order against the Nomad threat. While I'm aware of the NAP with the Order, and their continued monitoring of Liberty space is beneficial for both sides, siding with the Order against this threat could help to defeat the growing menace that half the Liberty Armed Forces was just traumatized by.
If we're to get an upper hand in this fight, and save our own people at the same time, we need to consider that the Order isn't all what we claim they are. They have proven on many occasions that they not only get things done, but minimize civilian casualties as well, sometimes nullifying the threat of them outright. They've also shown that they are committed to this fight, and are more than ready to do what they can to end the threat once and for all.
Colonel Hunter informed me that the object we saw in Major may very well have been the same that laid siege to Planet Toledo. The 'Planetkiller', as it was dubbed, is massive in scale, and holds the power to destroy an entire planet at will. This new threat must be dealt with, or I fear we risk losing many of our homes to the Nomad threat. If we cooperate with the Order against this 'Planetkiller', we may be able to exterminate this threat entirely and focus on the main threat from Gallia.
Colonel Hunter has also requested that Fleet Admiral Jones contact him via Neural Net communications. I will assume this is to make certain items clear, and to perhaps disclose information that was not presented to me.
In the past few days, the Primary had received word from a Golden Chrysanthemum pilot whose ship had been engaged by the secondary fleet battlecruiser L.N.S. Apophis. While the law doesn't see the GC as criminals, Captain Lars decided to forego this fact, and engage the ship regardless.
After conversing with him about the incident, his attitude seemed set, and short while into the talk, he began to bark nonsense about the First Fleet consisting of infectees. While I'm passing this off as pure bologna, it does raise the question as to who exactly we are allowing to captain the Secondary fleet's vessels.
Several days later, I received word from a Liberty Police officer who informed me that Captain Lars had been agitating again. While the report was unclear, it was stated that he ordered his men to fire upon another secondary fleet pilot, twice. While I'm aware of combat training sims, this wasn't one, as the Officer put clearly in his message. I will continue to look into this situation, and should matters continue to degrade, we may need to take swift action before Lars can make another detrimental move.
Commander Kingston, signing off.
