Born on Planet Malta to Leon family, Nicolas' parents weren't as rich as the majority of Outcasts. They worked on cardamine fields. Every Outcast is known to cardamine since childhood. There aren't many schools on Malta so there are a few ways of living a life of an Outcast - be it a cardamine smuggler or grower, a slave smuggler, or a warrior and handing over your soul to spirits of supreme beings. He was a typical child but his parents were hardly managing house finances. He never had good food as a child nor that joy of normal childhood but he still got through it. At age of 16, Nicolas started working on fields with his parents, taking care of orange grass every day wasn't that fun, but it was something that had to be done.
When he turned 18, he started working on a ship testing facility on Planet Malta. Various Maltese ships were brought for testing before their first flight. There was a small repairing shop nearby. Nicolas sometimes spend his free time there, trying to learn something new.
He had a close friend named "Alina". Nicolas had known her since childhood. She worked on nearby orange fields. As time passed their friendship turned into love - that endless love. They wanted to marry but Alina's parents didn't accept Nicolas. She turned out to be his girlfriend, started believing in Crimson Cross culture and one day she disappeared. Nicolas tried his best to find her but he didn't have any clue. He never had many friends. Nicolas never forgot Alina, she was always in his heart. Years have passed, but she was still missing. He moved on with his life but she was still there somewhere in his heart.
Civil war, which killed many Maltese brothers and sisters was gone, but its aftermath was there. Both groups lost their power and new groups like Crimson Cross gained it, who he never really liked, with a lot of reasons. With handful of credits he saved from work, Nicolas bought a new Sabre and started taking parts in small Outcast raids.
These were his first steps into space. On his first flight to the space he felt like his body is floating in air. It was a feeling he had never experienced before. The first job for him was to rob an IMG Convoy. It was a small convoy so its defences had to be small as well, but as they approached the convoy, Nicolas and others saw it was guarded more heavily then they thought. After scanning the transport, they knew the reason why they were guarding such a small convoy that much. It was transporting dozens of strange nomad artifacts. There was no turning back for Outcasts, so they fought with glory. Many Outcast fighters were destroyed, but the remaining of them managed to get the cargo and run away with it. Instead of credits, the cargo was distributed among all who participated. Nicolas didn't sell his artifacts and instead kept them with him. They gave him a unique feeling.
Nicolas lived alone after the passing of his parents. He heard stories about group of people called "Samarran Raiders", reading everything he could about them. Soon, Nicolas found himself attracted to their way of life and agenda. He also heard that they disappeared. One day, Nicolas ran into a Raider who was willing to listen to him. Convincing the Raider to accept him into their ranks was no easy task, but in the end, he managed to find his place among them.
