All of my single player save games have now disappeared. This was working but now it is not. Now I can save a game, but when I go back to play later all saves are gone.
If you want to play in singleplayer, launch freelancer through freelancer.exe. The launcher used to delete saves, but then not delete saves anymore and once the patch hit we had countless issues with people unable to join the game due to deprecated restart saves, so we enabled it again.
I am in the same boat - I want to play Discovery in Singleplayer, and of course launching freelancer.exe does not do this.
My solution is to backup my save games, then quickly copy them into the SinglePlayer folder in the few seconds between when Discovery Launcher deletes them and the game starts up fully.
It would be wonderful if we could have an option in the launcher for an SP mode that doesn't delete!
