Was looking at the GMG gunboat turrets vs the basic turret, and see a 7% increase in damage for a 25% increase in energy usage. range, speed and refire identical.
GMG gunboat turret deals more damage in exchange for more energy. I believe that is common logic considering that more power means consumnig more power.
ye, but im looking at the increase in damage for the increase in energy use. for that increase in energy, installing those guns means that you can fire them less than the basic turrets, and as such are not an upgrade.
Basic turrets means that you have a constant, albeit arguably less damaging stream of fire.
Faction turrets use enough energy to drain the powercore when shot constantly, but in turn do more damage than basics.
If you are rocking a gunboat at 100% core, you can easily afford to use faction basics for the added damage.
If you are using anything with 90 or 75% core, you are stuck using basics, at which you get the same drain as a full core with faction guns.
Call it balance.

PSA: If you have been having stutter/FPS lag on Disco where it does not run as smoothly as other games, please look at the fix here: https://discoverygc.com/forums/showthrea...pid2306502

Also, you'd be surprised the difference between someone using basics and not missing over someone using heavier guns and only hitting 60% of the time. If you got the touch, I can see how the power imbalance could be worrisome but mixing things around helps.
