My question, which might seem naive, is how do I, as a Nomad make a living? I would like to upgrade to a Sasya assassin but I need a few more (million) credits.
Are there any missions available? My Morph light fighter has limited cargo space and isn't able to land on or trade on most of the stations in space. Do I just blast NC ships in Nomad controlled space, tractor in what I can and sell it at Dur-Shurrikun or on Planet Gammu or Primus?

I have no idea why you want to do that. Nomads are basically credit dumpsters. The only way you can earn credits reliability is from your other accounts.

Nomads do not have a way of making money because first of all, there are no missions. Second of all you do not have a tractor button so you can not take any loot and sell it on a nomad base. The best thing to do here would be to make another, non nomad, character and trade using that. Then, using the /givecash [name] [amount] you can send credits over to your nomad to upgrade your ship.
Thank you for the quick reply. This answers many questions. I also didn't realize there I no longer have the ability to tractor in "loot", though that would explain why I haven't been able to recover anything from the wrecks I've encountered.
Perhaps a naive question, but how does one /givecash [name] [amount] credits to another account? I can't have both characters logged on at the same time. Do I need a separate computer?
More or less; K'Hara and indie nomad characters aren't meant to be moneymakers; they're mostly just a RP and PVP focused playstyle. Funding multiple different characters through a trading faction and character is an almost universally accepted practice.

A simple, angry man casually working his way through life on a personal quest to acquire copious amounts of street cred.
Honestly, the piracy Hit-steal-run tactic you're after is kinda better fit for somethkng like the Outcast or Corsair ID's, as Nomads don't partake in cargo theft and merely blast anything they want with zero regard for what their target carries.
Also as a side note: don't dock on Gammu or Primus with the Nomad ID. If I remember correctly, your ID doesnt permit you to dock there, and it can land you in trouble with the staff if someone reports ya for it.

Your correct Nommy's are money dumpers. Bassically indie nomms are locked to croms and stuff.
What I disagree however is PVPing. While it is a part of game, its much more fun to pure RP - which I have done so far on Lo'Pas unless I litterally had to defend myself from blue msg hunters.
I sometimes rp hostile, sometimes neutral and sometimes even friendly.]
It depends on the kind of people I meet or what has happenent to Lo'Pas beforehand.
The only cargo I legitly 'demand' is alien organism or nomad remains. If Lo'Pas is in a good 'mood', it may just demand your leave if you jettison it for instance.
Thats not piracy but is one of the commodotys I will eventually attack for because Lo'Pas is a nomad. It doesnt like human kin using theyr tech
First char advice would Always be a miner/trader. Imho this is your main income. From there you can go and make different characters.
