If getting carriers to be dockable is too big a pain in the programer, could we modify them?
I mean give the Liberty carrier for example Nerf the guns way down to gunboat or flacks then give the ship like 5000 bots and bats so it can support a battle group. Sort of like a super expansive and tough repair ship.
if they get 5000 bots and bats..ppl would use it as a uber ship.......because it's 5000 B/B....of course..if we nerf down to fighter weapon class...that's another story....
That would depend on how the docking worked. Obviously, it would need to prevent other caps from docking on the carrier, or we run into some fun logic problems.

Could use the same docking allowances planet docking rings use, that should prevent anything larger than an armoured transport from docking.
Well, it's not that big a pain to do the flhook mods to get dockable ships. This is on my list of things to implement and try out but not before 4.85 comes out...and it may never happen if the mod developers don't like it (Igiss, etc - I'm not saying they don't like it - I've haven't heard an opinion one way or the other)
If we were to implement this then I'd make it impossible to dock cap ships with cap ships...the docking function would be restricted to only fighters with carriers (or something like that)

1. Docking with player ships is possible and has been done
2. All issues with the carrier moving, logging off etc have been solved. There are no issues with it.
