Just a thought of criticism, dont get trapped into making a sort of cockpit with an open roof for the bike if you can do without it.
Seems bulky.. but hey, while saying that it still looks damn awesome.
If you are interested maybe i can sketch something out to try out other ideas for you?

Well i tried it without the cockpit thing, and its looked way worse than this. if we could change the pilot hard point's pose any design is possible but because of the fixed hard point, we are left with a guy sitting on a bike with his arms down

First idea: is it possible to build around the model to close him in to not see him and then build the actual pilot like before?
Second idea: is it possible to model over-top the hard point to model his arms?
If you want to build the model around the hardpointed pilot model, it'll be big and the created pilot will be as big as a Hayabusha itself
The second option, with a hefty amount of luck might work, although it also has the chance of looking utterly strange

its possible to have a model big enough to have the pilot hard point inside him. The first one ie this the front part could house the pilot if its big enough, but it will end up way bulky and it will seem like a kid riding a bike as the rider model should technically be the same size as the pilot hard point and the bike will be bigger to house the pilot hard point.
unless you want the model to have 4 arms like Goro modelling over the top would entail hiding the arms of the existing pilot hard point, which basically means all ships would have armless pilots, unless we make a new pilot hard point with the required pose. Someone with more experience would be able to explain this better.
Another way we can have the handlebars would be to have the pilot hard point as a pillion rider
Just let me get home already and will show you what I mean, untill than, hang tight And don't even think about making what we've talked about cause than I'll hunt ya down
