We tried centralised bounty boards...and it was a pain. There should be plenty of info in posted bounties, but I think people like to run their own bounty to see revenge/justice being served. Dedicated hunters keep track of the bounties and respond as soon as they can.
Fletch, another nice template ... But the whole point is, its supposed to be done in roleplay, so every post
will be unique, with every target, cost, and reason being entirely different.
The moment it becomes just a kill sheet, is the moment we stop bothering with this being an RP server.

Some say he is a proud member of: "The most paranoid group of people in the Community."
I don't see how a centralized bounty database does anything other than allow sanctions against a BH or Merc who takes a bounty in chat, in RP, who doesn't know about the board or doesn't care to be on the forums.
If there is going to be sanctions for doing bounties off the boards a rule should be put in so that people know about it.
Why not enable the /bounty function and do it that way?

Hmm, I understand this. And I did predict that RP would conflict with this sort of thing.
How about, in the first part of the post, the template kicks in, then at the bottom the user inputs his roleplay behind the bounty? Or the other way around?
I believe we need the information in the template I drafted up in the bounties anyway.
OK, but tell me how does this centralized forum based bounty database work? Is it a sanctionable offense to take a bounty that isn't posted on it? If so what protection are you providing to indies that don't spend much time on the forums if it isn't is the rules?

It's called the Employment Office. Fletcher is proposing a tidy-up of bounties, that's all. Bounties have to be on the forums, as the Admins recently announced. People are encouraged to register on the forums.
Indies? The biggest claimant on the BPA bounty board is an indy.

It is intended to be a useful tool to guide you to active bounties that have been posted by players.
I DO NOT intend it to be a 'use the bounties in here, or you get sanctioned' type of thing at all. Never.
