Some time ago, I brought forth a proposal to the Devs, when the Researcher ID was reintroduced, that would allow people with that ID to locate new substances in random anomalies throughout Sirius. These highly rare substances would allow for stronger armor and stronger weapons to be created on higher Core (6-10) POB's.
This proposal was largely ignored due to power creep. I doubt that the Devs would now want to go that route all of a sudden, as the effort to rebalance the new ships with the existing ones would be painstaking, not to mention the effort to create these ships as well.
It's a nice thought though...
Let's have something like this.

Also, maybe we shouldn't take care about money but about the activity instead? Like to obtain such a item people would need to spend a lot of time (a lot of) and post a pic with actual time on server and his in-game spent one. 100 hours on a capital for 4.3 armour? Also we should exclude shared accounts, due to the fact that a few ppl would be able to log on this ship and this difficulty would be spread to a few guys. Considered adding a number of logs from interactions... Yet not depending on its quality, sure, not lolwutty speech - some standart would be nice - suitable to everyone who is at least capable of speaking english. Well numbers are just for example.
I want to attach interactions spent in game just to avoid people afking 800k under the plane just to gain the required activity. I understand that it's sometimes difficult to catch someone so number of interactions should be somehow balanced with spent time.
On the other hand, shared account bonuses would have been reached with multiplied amount of normal time?
So basic time required to get the item X numbers of players with rights to use the shared ships
This way we would get something based on in-game spent time instead of size of your wallet.
Personally I think it would be enough to encourage ppl to log
