Clarifyication - can i open fire at a mocker?

Hi, a Freelancer mocked me in space. (my chair was Navy)
If he/she was RP char (HF or Rogue etc.), mocking it's normal. But the player is a Freelancer! Please tell me 2 things: 1) is this mocking normal- (i mean Community rule 1.2 and Server Rule 1.1 );
and 2) can i open fire at the mocker, as he/she is a Freelancer? I accept his mocking as a verbal attack and i think i have rights to open fire at him.
If you tell me- "you cannot attack him unntil he is not fire at you", then i'll ask you: so any mocking and inguires are allowed in Disco, but the firing as an answer - is not allowed?
Understand me correct, i'm not a crying child who runs to his mom everytime when he's mocked; but if someone attacks me - verbal or phisical - i feel need to fire at him.

To clarify, this was an InRP situation. The character you were interacting who was mocking you is an enemy of Liberty. It was not intended as a personal attack, as at the time the character was undergoing a psychosis episode.

Additionally, the other character present (myself) is a former pilot of The Hellfire Legion, which would explain the vessel he is pilotting.

Furthermore, more often than not hostile groups will mock each other. However, there are (I think) laws in place about harassing Liberty forces.

Highly depends on the context and circumstances. I would associate that mocking in any shape or form is still roleplay and leads to consequences, regardless of what IDs are involved. If you mock a person in a combat ship, you better accept what is coming to you - ally or not.

Though practice restraint as in cases where two allied or friendly IDs are involved, admins may choose to deal with the situation by directly citing the server rules. Respond to mockery with hostility at your own risk, would be my suggestion.

Well if you would mock an army soldier would you get shot?
Or would he have to wait for orders before shooting.
Or does the law state to not mock government/navy/cops.

Police brutality exists though. But this is a space shooter game where we play stereotypical roles. Just go out and have fun while following rules and you will be fine. Don't take anything too personally if it's just roleplay. However, when someone starts insulting you as a player, you should take a step back and do your best to not be baited into verbal fight.

I made a post some time ago where I explained that the overall behavior of humans in Freelancer only shows that the rules are harsh and the value of a humans life in the world of Freelancer is minuscule. People will shoot you dead for very little reasons.

Real world examples are not applicable in this situation.

If someone mock me, have i the rights to shoot at him? Yes or not

if you tell that mocking has degrees and RP proposes or something, let me ask you how yo'll react if someone- enyone- in spc starts to chat at you: "Shut up!,; Dive into the planet, and i will pay you 1 mill; ""You are disagreeable aren't you etc."
Isn't this an attack more heavy than the phisical one?

There is a difference between insult in roleplay, that is directed at your characters "You corrupt Navy scum". This is allowed.

While personal insults such as "You are the most stupid player ever" are not allowed.
