Vick's past

Vick doesn't know his real origin... His parent's names are unknown.. He just knew is surname "Vick" as it is tattooed on his arm... The family name is fake... he made it up as he is very skilled in using his couple of blasters... When he was 5 years old he remember being abandoned on a Planet called Crete... A corsair woman called Claudia Derentez adopted him and took care of him... At 16... He wanted to ran away from this place... So he he stole the Eagle ship from Claudia... and escaped... He never heard of Claudia anymore... He thinks she understood his action...

He quickly found out that without money he couldn't survive in sirius... So he went on discovery and reached the Alpha... There he managed to get some deals with Outcast... They proposed him to transport some cardamine for some addictive military pilots in each houses of sirius... So he worked like this... Smuggling all the crap unimaginable.... He wasn't getting much due to his small cargo capacity on his eagle... but he did not care... All he wanted was cash to live... Not to get a big ship that he would not care enough....

From time to time until he was 20 years old he was visiting the outcast at Malta... One day he met a girl in the local tavern... She was a pure breed outcast call Isabella Dos Santos... The talked together and the contact between the became very electric... She was like him... A person with rage and a good shot with blasters too...

One year later they got married... They loved each other like wolves... They couldn't be too long far from each other... Vick had to work by travelling... Three month later... Isabella was so happy to see him again... But Vick told her that he had to go to work again... She became silent... and suddenly ask him... "Why don't we travel together my love"... Vick couldn't say no as he missed her so much too...

This time the mission was to get some artefacts at Crete and to bring them back at a junker base in New York to an Outcast Pilot... The outcasts ask him that as he is not known as an outcast... Even Isabella could sneak into it... So they went there, got the deal from a corsair and launched again from Malta... He did not get news from Claudia the woman that took care of him in the past... As the couple reached orbit... Another smuggler hail them... He asked their destination and proposed to join formation as he knew some short cuts...

They reached a strange system.. In it they flew near a planet and suddenly Nomads ship attacked them... The other smuggler managed to ran away until 10k distance and was waiting for Vick's Fighter... Vick and Isabella had to eject as they were outnumbered by those aliens... Strangely the nomads stopped firing at them... They approached the Isabella's pod... Vick contacted the smuggler to tractor them... As he reach them it was too late the nomads captured the poor woman... Vick got in the smuggler's transport... He walked down the corridor of the vessel until the deck... There the smuggler told him how he was sorry... Vick couldn't control his rage... so he grabbed his blaster and shot down the smuggler begging for his life...
Then Vick scared off the crew and took control of the ship... He headed back to gamma to get to Liberty by a safer way.... He will always remember those nomads and the screams of his wife....

He became desperate as he stayed on the Freeport 9 He worked as an equipment engineer there during 10 years.... He was silent and he never talked about his past to anyone...

One month later he met a freelancer looking for workers.. He was called Jack Hilmor and presented himself as the leader of a community of Freelancer Peaceful... Vick was searching for this kind of people.. He needed something and peoples to survive... So he desperately joined them and reached the ex basement of this community at New York system... Then as he was getting sick on planets.... The Captain Jeff Willdor another freelancer working for the survival of the community proposed him to join his crew as an equipment engineer.... Now the crew and himself are the best companions the community can count on...

While Ben Looter was revising the entire freighter, Vick Blaster, Lyla Flore Willdor, Durango Flore (cyborg) and Jeff Willdor were having a little discussion in the bar of the Exodus in orbit of Manhattan...

Jeff: So what are guys going to drink ?
Lyla: I think I'm gonna have your speciality my love... The cocktail StonerSpace
Vick: Oooh yea Rock on Baby I love that drink... make it two !
Durango: I'll just have a fresh juice without alcohol... I don't want to burn my Cybernetic....
Jeff: Glad to hear that you like my elixir....And Durango... I'll make you a nice cocktail without alcohol...

Jeff prepared the drinks with some thought in his mind....

Jeff: Tell me Vick... I know that you don't like it.... But it's now a long time that we know you.... But to be honest we don't really know you... We only know how you act in life... But What is it in your mind that keeps your past so secret ?
Lyla: Yeeeaa.. It's true... Have you done something wrong in the past ?
Durango: By the look of his face I can tell he doesn't want to talk about it...
Vick: Erm... Jeff ? is your drink ready ?

Jeff put the drinks on the bar....

Jeff: Right... they are..... here yo... (Lyla cut)
Lyla: Hold on Jeff.... You will give that drink under one condition.... Vick... You know we take care of each other here in this damn ship.... We've been in many situations all together... But still Vick.... I don't trust you.... As you are so blocked on your past dude.... What is it that keep you so close on yourself Man ?... We're are your friends... We care about you... You can tell everything to us... We won't judge you... As we all did bad actions in our lives...

At this moment Ben Looter entered the bar and heard the conversation...

Ben: Ahoy everybody so what is it you hide Vick ?
Vick: pffffff..... Al'right guys you won ! I sense that you've been preparing that interrogation.... Right... To be honest I wasn't that bad in the past.... I was just smuggling artefact, drugs, and all the crap you can imagine... I flew my old eagle in many dangerous systems to ensure the living of my wife and myself... Well that wasn't big money... But it kept us alive for those times....
Jeff: I did not knew you had a wife ? Where is she ? Secretly hidden in Gran Can..... (Vick cut)

Vick grabbed Jeff by the neck and screamed....

Vick: With all due RESPECT Captain.... Don't you EVER TALK about me wife that way.... Or you will feel my RAGE...

Durango gets to Vick and grabs him with his force...

Durango: I suggest you calm down your nerves Vick.... Jeff did not meant to hurt you...
Vick: Yeaa you're right this time toaster...(Vick never trust machines and half human-machines) I'm sorry Jeff... That's someone you can't joke about... You see I don't hide her... She... just... doesn't exist anymore... (A tear comes out his eye)
Jeff: I'm so sorry my friend... I did not know... I'm stupid I should have think before....
Vick: That's ok... Shall I continue now that you know the beginning ?
Jeff: Sure.... Here take the drink...
Ben: Oh man I knew it ! Why you did not say before.... You know we're your friends....
Vick: I know... Thanks guys... You gave me reason to live again by protecting this community... anyway...
One day my wife Isabella Dos Santos... She was an ex Outcast... ask me if she could come in my travels... You see I travelled many times and we were missing each other.... So I did not refuse as my sentiment couldn't... So we smuggled together in dangerous zones.... We went to Omicron Gamma to take the artefacts for cheap credits... You see I know friend in liberty that buy them at high price... We needed the damn cash... At destination we dealt with a corsair... Then we launched from Crete... And there was another smuggler dealing more artefacts.... He asked us if we'd like to join formation as he knew short cuts to get to Liberty in short time... Also we had no choice as we had just enough H-Fuel for this trip... In gamma we had to pass a strange nebula.... Then we reached the unknown for both of us... The smuggler told that was the System Kappa... He told to be careful of the autonomous... We've travelled near a planet when suddenly loads of you know what....
Jeff: mmm Those freakin' aliens right ?
Vick: yea.... They engaged all of us.... I had to fight for our lives.... Maaan they are so strong... We had to eject in each of our pods... It was weird.. because the nomads stopped to fire and came close to Isabella's pod... I contacted the smuggler to tractor us right away...but as he reached us, the nomads captured my wife's pod.... It was too late I couldn't save her with that freakin' transport of the smuggler.... I can still hear my wife's screams in my head....erm...(He became silent for 10 second).... Sorry.... As I entered the transport cockpit the smuggler said "I'm sorry dude. It's my fault I should have warn you and stay close to you...." At this moment I had all the rage you can't imagine of.... I grabbed my blaster and pointed it at the smuggler's head.... I can hear him begging for his life.... I shot him down and took control of his crew and ship... Then I headed back in gamma and took a safer way to Liberty... I will always have the regrets to... not being able to.... protect my wife.... I'm sure those frekin' grubs took control of Isabella... I would rather think that she's dead....

The bar became silent... Their was only the ship's engines on standing by.... No one knew what to say....

Vick: guys.... are you still alive....
Lyla: This is terrifying.... I heard about those aliens.... But never in that way.... All the other peoples talks lies.... Especially the LSF and LN...
Jeff: It is indeed a sad story my friend... I don't know what to say...
Vick: There is nothing to say unless... All I want now... Is to exterminate those Nomads... if they continue the whole Sirius will become corrupted....
Ben: I hope it won't happened....
Durango: I have data about those nomads.... In my discoveries, I went to this system called Kappa... I have seen the alien and terminated some of them... But more interesting... I managed to get my way trough a system owned by The Order... There I have met an Order pilot that told me to leave right away... For my own data I asked him before what is the purpose of the order... He answered that they are here to protect Sirius against the Nomad Threat...
Jeff: The Order.... mmm I've heard of them... I know that they are enemies of the Liberty authorities... A Navy Lieutenant called Rick Gunner told me about The Order too... not much that I could retrieved from him though...
What I don't understand is... Why are they fighting against each other..... I mean they have both one same goal....Terminate the Nomads... Those stupid politics... They should all join forces to fight the aliens...
Lyla: Yeeea you know... I don't really trust the Liberty anyway and all the other houses... Maybe The Order got the same feelings as me...
Vick Ben Durango and Jeff: AND US !
Vick: You know sometimes I wish to go back there.... To the kappa... To avenge my loss... But on my own... I'll just become a puppet of the nomads....
Jeff: Maybe we should visit The Order sometimes....
Lyla: I don't feel really up to get in those systems but... Why not... we could be able to help them....
Vick: I wish I was fighting with them... Maybe my wife would be still here....
Jeff: Vick again I'm sorry... And I thank you to release your deepest secrets... It's good to see you still have something in your head than all your weapons...
Vick: Heck.... Those guns can be useful sometimes...

Jeff grabbed is device to send a transmission to the whole crew....

Jeff: Listen up all... Captain Willdor speakin'... I ask all of you to get a good rest on Manhattan... You'll need it.... Soon we will head to the Theta... Then we will improvise what to do... That is all.... Enjoy your journey on the planet...

The 46 Freelancers crew men came to the landing bay, near the Exodus... They all reported their availabilities to the Captain Jeff Willdor... They packed up everything and started to verify the ship status...while Captain Jeff Willdor, Lyla Flore, Ben Looter and Vick Blaster were having a discussion to the local bar...

Jeff: Vick, your ship is at the Freeport 9 right ?
Vick: Yea before I joined the freelancer community I left it there and boarder myself on Jack Hilmors Transport... He took me to the ex Island of Manhattan... Then we met together... And you know... I am not a person that can stay long on a Planet... You remember....? I get sick on Planets...
Lyla: Yea i remember that you fell in coma... So we took you on the ex BW transport Rider.of.the.Storm... Then you just woke up as we passed the atmosphere of Manhattan...
Ben: This is weird... In general people get sick in space... But on a planet... What about station base ?
Vick: Stations are fine.... It is just the Planet.... Anyway when I left my Eagle... i had to sell almost all my guns and equipment... I needed cash..again... But I kept a couple of the best guns i had... The codename Onyx that i found in the past on someone wreck... Now i think I'll have to bride the Hunters to get me some good gear at the Omega 15 and 56... if they get bad I'll use my blasters...
I don't ant their guns... Just the thrusters, shields...
Jeff:You better be careful buddy...
Vick:: Don't worry... You know my blasters never failed me ! Apart from that.... From where are we going to get to the Theta ?
Jeff: Durango Flore (the cyborg bro' of Lyla) gave me some info of his travels... *whispering* He got me the coordinate to Alaska... It'd get us to the Theta faster... He said we must be careful as there is those nomads patrols... Also be careful guys... The navy and LSF are in the bar... This zone we're headin' to is highly restricted.... But you know maybe... we will meet Order Pilots in the next systems...
Lyla: I don't really like this idea Jeff... we may get in trouble... But heck... I trust you lov'
Ben: I'm all with ya too Jeff...
Vick: Whispering It would be great if we get a first contact with the Order.... I can't wait to see them... I think we should not tell the rest of the crew our plan to get to Theta...
Jeff: Yeah... You're right Vick... We won't tell them... That might scare them off... (at this moment the watch of Jeff gets a signal... it is from Durango Flore) *whispering* Ok guys drink up... Durango biped me... It means that the way to Alaska is clear.... Let's get the heck out and don't look to suspicious... The navy men are watchin' us... and talkin'....

The four companions headed to the Exodus... Everything went smoothly... They launched... Reached the restricted zone and entered Alaska... in the long range scan... Jeff detected ships in the next system...
After Jumping into the Omicron Minor.... An Order battleship on the name of Defiance was waiting for them...
Jeff explained the reason of their intrusion... He allowed Vick to talk with the Commander of the ship.... He explained all his intentions and even proposed his help for the order.... The Black Squadron did not really interfered in the discussion... But the commander of Defiance was listening... He told Vick that he would be glad to help him in his trainings to become a Nomad Hunter... Also Jeff explained that Vick have too do some work in Theta for his eagle... The Defiance's Commander even offered an escort until the Freeport 9... The four companions were very glad of this...
Now Vick left the his work on the Exodus and he's preparing his Eagle for another contact with The Order....

First entry log....

I finally got to my old eagle in the Freeport 9.... Glad to see it's still in one piece... The Zoners grounded it as asked in the past... Now I need it... But... there was one problem... I only had a thruster, a weak shield and two codenames weapons mounted... damned... I had to sneak into the Bounty Hunters Guard station.... I was going to get only equipment.... not the weapons... I didn't wish to get troubles with The Corsairs and The Order... I need to stay neutral at the moment....

So I went to the Omega 15 though the Omega 41... There I forgot about those two damn suns.... I almost burned my skin... Anyway I managed to get to the Rostock base as I was showing neutrality to the Hunters....

Once docked.... I entered the bar.... I was thinking about a plan to sneak into their guard systems for the equipment.. So I bough myself a whiskey on the rocks and talked to the Barman by lying on all my line...

Vick: Hey dude... How do we become a Hunter in this zone ? I got fade up of the freelancing.. Now I wish more action in those fellows hunters....
Barman: Good to see a new space cowboy... What's your name man....
Vick: Vick Blaster.....
Barman: What a name.. is it your real name ?
Vick: Look My tattoo buddy... It's written on me arm... Vick with two nice Blasters.... Hey... Check out me Blasters on my belt... Same as the Tattoo...
Barman: This is cool man... we like your kind in here...
Vick: Glad to hear it buddy.... So you didn't answer me first question...
Barman: Well if ya want I could put ya in good words with the rest of the hunters for.... Let's see 400,000 credits...

I did not hesitate... Once my plan done... i would get back those credits by any ways before leavin' this freakin' place

Vick: That's a deal dude...
Barman: All right... nice to negotiate with ya !
Vick: Cheers guys.... Hey hunters... i buy you all a drink... I'm gonna work out my new jobs now...
Hunters: Great... good to see new faces... good luck in your hunt....

I headed back to my Eagle... It work out... foolish guys... They were all drinking while I was going the guard system... The equipment dealer knew I was new... But I told him I'm a rookie Hunter setting up new equipment.. And that I already had the guns... He did not even checked the fool... Then I left the guard systems with good shields... Thanks to the captain Jeff that gave me enough funds for me ship...

I had to get me money from the bride though... I didn't want to let them think I'm friendly with them...
I entered back to Rostock bar...
Vick: Hey guys still drinkin'
Hunters: Yea dude *hiccup* thanks for that...

I took me blasters and aimed them all.... They were not even noticing it as they were drunk soo...

Vick: Hey Scum Bags.... Do you know how it feels to get blasted while drinkin'
Hunters: Hum ! .hiccup... What ? are you makin' a joke with ... *hiccup* ya name ?
Vick: My Blasters ain't jokin' guys DIE hunters !

I blasted 'em all .... They did not even realised that... The all died in a bath of blood... I went to the corpse of the barman took me cash back... i checked all of their corpse... i even made profit in this carnage... Then the alarm was engaged... I did not though about that... So I ran to me vessel and launched quickly...
My hands were full of dirty blood... I did not stopped at the freeports... The hunters were warnin' all the base to hunt me down... Damned... I'm sure I got myself a bounty for my death....

As I entered the Theta... I detected a Bounty Hunter patrol on my scans... They found me and chased me till I reached the gamma... They was about 20 of them on my tail... I though I can't let them like dogs... So I engaged them... Woa they are easy to kill... I even told a corsair called Manuel in the system to join the party... We killed them all in a few minutes...Then he invited me to the planet to have a drink to celebrate OUR capture of hunters... In this planet I equipped me Eagle with corsair weaponry... Now I'm waiting for the Captain Christopher Dangen of The Order to start my training...
