Amy's family had never really got on with Cousin Phil, the Junker. Rather shady sort, they whispered. Don't let him near your wallet. Amy, however, had always admired Phil's free spirit, and Phil had in turn seen a lot of himself in her. He'd occasionally let her sit in his CSV (safely turned off, of course). Then, one day, Phil got completely plastered, launched from Rochester in a drunken stupor and crash-landed on Manhattan. He didn't survive the impact.
Nowadays, Amy tries to distance herself from the memory of Cousin Phil and the pain therein. She utterly and absolutely denies that her becoming a Junker had anything to do with him. All lies, of course. The day after she turned 20, she received a small amount of cash from a "Jim" on Beaumont Base. Unbeknownst to her, of course, Jim was one of Phil's disreputable friends. Phil had left the money to Amy in his will and Jim had been minding it for her until her 20th (he had spent a bit of it on booze and gambling, but not much. No more than a couple million, anyway.) Amy used the money to get herself a CSV and set herself up on the road to Junkerdom.

Bribery and corruption. Frankly, I don't know how Sirius would survive without it. Ended up having to bribe half the galaxy before I managed to become comfortably neutral with most people. Let's see. The Junkers, of course. The Outcasts, to get the Mollys and Hessians off my back. The Unioners, to get them off my back. Kruger, to get Republican off my back. But it's paid off (ha ha) - now the only people who actively want to kill me are the Xenos, bless their hate-filled little hearts.
Other than palm-greasing, today was mainly just about getting to know where I'd be working and living. Took part of the round tour of Junker bases - visited Rochester, Beaumont, Puerto Rico, Trafalgar and Kreuzberg. Now all that's left is Yanagi and Bornholme.
Met up with a few "Junker Congress" ships. Now they sound interesting. Phil kept banging on about them sometimes. Might see what I have to do to get in with them.

Well, this has been an eventful coupla days. I've finished my grand Junker tour (what a gold mine Bornholm is!) and, what's more, have been accepted into the Junkers Congress. Also, I have myself a shiny new Collector VHF. The hold's almost as roomy as my old CSV, but it packs a helluva lot more firepower.
Anyway, off to the bar for some of that authentic Rheinland beer. I tell you, that stuff makes Liberty ale look like water.
...Come to think of it, water makes Liberty Ale look like water.
Well, after several weeks cooped up in Bornholm, I decided to get out and see more of Sirius. So I did, in a big way. After mapping a few jump holes in Rheinland, I headed all the way out to Omicron Gamma to bring the Corsairs some food, humanitarian soul that I am. I then lugged some Artifacts back to Texas, then took a load of guns and designer shoes up to the GC in Hokkaido. After that, it was down to Yanagi, where I am currently curled up in bed logging. I'm bushed...
