The Outcastification process is progressing smoothly. I got 3ds Max installed on this junkpile, too, so expect more three-dimensional results in short order (once my...one...two...THREE essays are done:dry:) As you can see, I essentially took the silhouette of the Hiigaran Battlecruiser and took an Eppymiser to it. This is, as is anything on paper, rough; no gun mounts or fine details. Might stick the winglets out past the edges, too.

I think its too hard edged, it looks like it was constructed it lego to me. Kudos for whipping out a concept sketch hours after a debate on its replacement, not petty at all Morgan.
Looks like a pancake and smells like one. Though it looks more like a trade vessel to me. Just remove the crosses and you can see a trade ship model heh or a pancake order ship that circle thing looks like it could be an order bridge.
Well, what the hell do you want? It has to have the same general dimensions as the Hiigaran Battlecruiser. If you have a better idea, please, tell me, I'll see if it's feasible, but there's only so much you can do within the constraints of the model.
EDIT: Get used to the fins. It's an Outcast ship. Every one but the Dagger has it.
EDITII: And remember, it's pencil and paper. The details aren't there, the angles are misrepresented and everything's simplified. I didn't even bother to draw in the inserts, this is barely a representation.

Looks pretty good to me... Keeps the style of the old OC Destroyer which everyone(?) loves so much, but makes it more Outcasty/Freelancerish... The hard edges are good, it's a staple of the BW shipline (and much of Freelancer in general).
There is actually a lot you can do within the model Eppy, you're thinking too linearly. I wont tell you how to design your take on it, but stop trying to take a Hiigaran Battelcruiser and slap BW armour on it.
Instead look at the Hiigaran battlecruiser for tips, design aesthetics, the little things that have made people like it. And then forget them completely. This is after all, an Outcast vessel.
Not sure, I'm not a ship designer. In any case, it needs some flair or something. The Hiigaran one has umph, don't ask me how, but it does. It doesn't just look like a "pancake", it has a presence with it's stance and design.

only point in making the design is if it will be completed (textured, AND hardpointed) and submitted to be added into the mod, really. hitboxing isnt hard, having done so many i can do it with my eyes closed <.<
also, what happened to the OC bs/dreadnought models you made? god knows we need a change..
