Bright light illuminated the two women as they walked into the biodome of Freeport 10. Usually, the blinding rays of Tau 37 were filtered and reduced by shading technology on the dome panels - yet much to the dismay of many they had fallen out of order a day or two before they had arrived. Thallia looked up at Jessica wearing a pair of shades over her eyes. "Se...see. Emergency sunglasses d...do pay off." After surviving the inevitable glare earned by such a comment, the two of them walked over to the cafe and sat down. Pulling over four more chairs to the corner table, Thallia scratched her nose.
"Whe...want anything fr...from the cafe?" "Juice, thanks."
"App...apfel juice?" "Mhm."
Thallia walked to the cafe counter and joined the queue. Grinning slightly as her stomach rumbled, she looked over at the entrance as she noticed a group of 'out of place' individuals walked through the doorway.
As they passed the doorway, Nomak signaled to his associates to sit down at the bar and have some drinks while he was heading towards Thalia and Jessica. He approached the table where two were sitting and he sat down, while snapping his fingers so bartender would come.
"Please, some fine liquor for the ladies and me, and take this juices back. Bring me an ash tray too."
Nomak with a slight smile took out his non electric cigarette and lighted it up, while pointing his look to each at a time and then, he began speaking to both.
"My ladies. Let me express that it's a pleasure to finally meet you, especially doctor Thorn here. I've heard a lot about you and your work... I can tell that I admire you. Miss Snow, we finally get to meet. I was looking for you for some time... well, I've turned whole Sirius upside down so I could get any trace of you."
When bartender arrived with drinks, Nomak took a sip of his scotch, while leaning over his chair and obviously being relaxed, he then continued:
"Yes, I am here because of my assignment, which is by the way of an great importance. But, on the other hand, I wasn't here for a long, long time. I would like to remain relaxed even when we finish this meeting so, chill out and enjoy your drinks. If you do not like them, I will call bartender to order you something else, but I find these drinks fitting for this moment."
Then, he pointed his view towards the bar and continued.
"Do not worry about the men that accompanied me. They don't have anything with this but they as well as me do like to have some time off duty. Being inside of a ship makes you feel a bit nervous after some longer period of time."
Nomak leaned back and continued enjoying his scotch and cigarette, while the cloud of smoke out of his cigarette was surrounding them.
<"From Darkness, lead me to Light. From Ignorance, to Truth. From Death, to Immortality.">
Jessica watches Thorn move up to the bar in order to get her the drink that she asked for. Mumbling out a quiet 'thank you' as she returns. Sipping on the glass lazily. If anyone were to try to take it, she'd wave them off slightly. She liked her juice. Much more than any liquor.
"Well, the Commune. I wasn't expecting to be getting anything from you folks. I was hoping that you'd take the cold shoulder as a hint, though it seems like it wasn't obvious enough."
Setting her juice down. Refusing to touch anything alcoholic. "I don't know what you're expecting of me. It's never been something proper of my position to have contact with people that I don't need to have contact with. Not to mention I don't really accept outside help that I don't reach out to myself. - What, were you sent to play fetch by Rosie or something? She should know better. Patience serves people well."
Studying Nomak for a few moments. "Well, I guess you made it this far. I suppose it'd be rude to turn you away. Good choice of drink. Jack would approve."
Folding her hands, leaning forward slightly. "So, I suppose I have Thallia to thank for arranging this."
Giving her an odd look. "Ah well. Grab me a sub and i'll be happy. They make really good sandwiches here."
Returning Jessica's odd look for a moment, Thallia turns her head to Nomak after a brief moment. "Yo...you give to mu...much credit to what you hear Mr. Nomak. On th...the other hand, I fi...find your espoused mission within the Commune su...surprisingly humanitarian. Admirable." Scratching her nose, she looked idly at the men Nomak had brought with him. Narrowing her eyes slightly she eventually sat back in the chair, picking up a scotch. Swirling it gently, she took a slight sip and place the glass back down on the table.
"I ca...can deduce who this 'Rosie' is wh...who you both mention." It was now her turn to look at Jessica with a curious gleam in her eyes. "... I'm intrigued. But, ur... pl...please, ur... don't let me in...interrupt your little catch up."
As he was waiting for Doctor Thorn to leave the table, he looked at her with a slight smile, nodding to her so he would gesture her not to worry about anything, then he turned to Jessica:
"You see, I'm a type of individual that knows it's purpose. Whatever it is thrown at me, even to go trough hell and get back with something, it is what I do. Playing a fetch or not, I don't really care since, I have greater issues to occupy myself with than to act like a child."
He took last shot of his scotch and snapped his fingers to bartender so he would order new round
"Colonel Rose sent me to find you. She told me that she organised her finest assets to track you down. I do not know if you are good at hiding or her men should be slaughtered. She also told me to bring you to her at all costs. So, before we start negotiating with that, tell me what happened with you?"
As bartender arrived, Nomak asked the following
"Scotch? More juice?"
<"From Darkness, lead me to Light. From Ignorance, to Truth. From Death, to Immortality.">
"Mmhm." Nodding her head slightly in response to Jack being her brother. "Well, isn't that excellent. I'm not taking shots at your own personal drive, nor at what you do. Though being completely honest with you, I think your 'greater issues' might be a little more important than regaining contact with me. I'm glad that we're able to sit down and talk for a little while I suppose, but what are you trying to accomplish?"
Reaching down to the food of the chair, she pulls a tablet from the bag she had brought with her. Setting it down on the table. Folding her hands. "There is no need to kill anyone. Her.. 'assets' most likely had other things on their plates. - So what makes me a priority right now? I haven't destroyed anything last I checked. In fact, it's my job to prevent that from happening in the first place when it comes to information or assets."
Tapping on the tablets surface twice. The screen lighting up. Showing a picture of a female in a cell.
"I don't think i'm going to be going back with you to see Rosie, though I won't stop doing my job either. This person's name is Christina Snow."
Clenching a fist. Leaning forward slightly. "She.. passed away as of late. If you want to know what happened to me, one of your hostages are gone. You only have one remaining. I suggest that she's looked after when it comes down to it. Keep Ivy alive if she's in any trouble, and i'll continue doing my thing. As for the slight absence of mine, there hasn't been anything that I needed to concern myself with. People are not dying at the rate that they used to be. I've done my job properly."
Shaking her head. "No thanks. I have some water in my bag, enough juice for today."
Thallia had begun to get out of her chair, stretching and standing up. She froze however as Jessica began to show the image of Christina on her tablet. After a moment, she slowly sat back down again as a sombre expression crept across her face. With her arms crossed and lent back in her chair, she looked between the two of them with a stern gaze.
As they continued talking, her eyes flickered up at the men at the bar Jared had brought with him. ...heavily built...probably packing heat...lets keep this civil...Christina... Closing her eyes for a moment, she rubbed the bridge of her nose between two fingers whilst reaching for the scotch with her other hand. Taking a gulp, she looked between the two again bringing her satchel bag to her lap.
He looked at the Thalia's reactions for a second and with a calm sigh he continued:
"My assignment was to track you down and eventually bring you back to her. Since, you are not willing to go back to her and speak on your own, I suggest you to begin speaking what happened and why you did disappear."
He then took a look on the tablet
"I do not have knowledge who this is, nor about which hostages you are speaking. We do not take hostages."
Then he turned to Thalia
"No need to be nervous, doctor. We mean no harm. Take another round for yourself, it's on me."
<"From Darkness, lead me to Light. From Ignorance, to Truth. From Death, to Immortality.">
"You don't need to convince me about that dear. I know very well that you're merely doing what you were asked to do."
A faint smile stretching across her face. Leaning in slightly. "I'm going to leave it vague with a don't worry too much about it. You're more than welcome to find me again if i've been a failure in any regard, though Rosie sure as hell knows better than most people that I don't work well with other people. If something comes up that needs my attention. It'll be taken care of. Anything which fits under that category normally however hasn't come up in quite a while."
Jessica frowns. Sighing.
"Of course you wouldn't know anything about Chrissy.. No matter. You may not take hostages, though the side-effect of keeping my niece living sure as hell qualifies as a hostage situation. Though I doubt that you need to think or worry about that. I have a feeling that the kid will be left alone."
"I'm going to stick to my own business, Nomak. What exactly do you want from me. There isn't any secret reason or conspiracy on why I suddenly went dark. I went dark because that's what I am supposed to do. That's why Rosie keeps me around. Well. That, and perhaps the threat of putting a bullet in my own head if she ever tried to take away the will I have left." Tapping her head twice.
