ok so i have a jump drive on a ship with a power core bigger then that stated amount needed,
what id like to know is does the power core actually matter? as when charging it don't show any drain on the power core at all, not a single bar drops from the power core soooo does it matter or just inRP matters?
also other reason i ask is that ships that can mount the IV based on power core dont actually have the cargo hold to do so, 1200 for the series IV and then a further 2400 cargo for the fuel, MOX for each jump
I believe the power core is just another restriction, and also the idea behind some ships not having a large enough cargo is to try and have interaction between players. E.g cap hires a transport to hold fuel
yeah i figured as much and it isnt the issue we have planed and taking at least 1 cargo ship with fuel with us on jumps what i was getting at was, does it actually use power from the ships core,, for eg could you mount a jumpdrive on a ship that has 100,000 power core and will it work if you have fuel? like on a transporter that has a type 1 equipment slot witch is where its mounted,
or will it simply not charge because there not enough power in the core.

You can mount a JD on a Transporter or a Liner but you can't Jump! And yeah, it's about the power core.
