Here is a quick rough FL Explorer image of the main one. Omicron Lamda.
The 2nd one will be a very simple Corsair Guard zone Omicron 88.
Other stuff would be added to the systems, the images are mainly skeletons. Your opinions are needed before I put forth more effort.
The Idea behind these systems is this.
The Junkers have been exploring Sirius looking for new trade routes to exploit for smuggling. While exploring Omicron Gamma after doing some artifact trade with the Corsairs, they came across a jumphole to a new system they dubbed Omicron 88. After extensive exploration of Omicron 88 they did not find anything of interest in that system except a jumphole to another unexplored system. Intregued they entered and discovered Omicron Lamda.
Omicron Lamda proved to be far more interesting. They found multiple other Jumpholes in this system. One they found to Omicron Minor that already had nomads flying around it. Apparently Nomads knew about this system but had not colonized it or moved very far into the system. They also found 2 other jumpholes, one to a system the Outcasts had already colonized, Omicron 85 as well as another to a system full of bountyhunters Omega-56. They immediately saw the potential for profittable trade routes to Liberty with both the Corsairs and Outcasts so they built a station in the middle of the Omicron 85, 88, and Minor jumpholes.
Although they tried to keep all this a secret for themselves, the locations of the jumpholes were eventually leaked to both the Outcasts and the Corsairs. Both factions immediately moved into the system to both promote the trade of their goods but also to try to hinder the efforts of the enemies. The Corsairs moved some of their best pilots into Omicron 88 to ensure that the Outcasts would not attempt any invasions through that path. The bountyhunters found out about the hole to their system much later and were excited about the new path to the Order technology they wanted so desperatley. It was too late for any attempt to colonize the system though, the Corsairs and Outcasts had already established themselves.
Omicron Lamda quickly became a hotbed for both the Artifact and the Cardamine trade with the junkers proffiting from both sides with their strategically placed Turnout Station.
That's the story. The actually mechanics behind everything would be this. The Cardamine and Artifact routes between malta and liberty and crete and liberty would both net about the same in terms of money per time round trip and be as proffitable as the best legal routes. Imagine the Corsairs interfering with player smugglers carrying Cardamine as well as Outcasts messing with Artifact smugglers. There would be Outcast, Corsair, Junker, Bounter Hunter, and possibly a very small localized Nomad NPC presense in Lamda. Omicron 88 would be Corsair guard. Both routes go through guard zones hopefully forcing the smuggler to need to affiliate with a side. In the process of getting neutral rep with say the Outcast guard they get bad rep with the Corsair guard. There would be bountyhunters in the system as well.
This would of course mean smugglers going through alaska, which while some would say is oorp I see it as a possibility for tons of RP and give people who should not be in Alaska a viable reason to be there and thus be chased out. This also gets more traffic going through Order space giving them lots more to do. Check this thread to see where I am coming from. http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=28278
If you think this is a good idea please say so. More importantly if you think it is a bad idea and will not make it into the mod ever say so too. Already trying to figure out how the editor works, and have started to get the gist of ini editing. It is tough and i will be having lots of questions. If you like the idea and have better ideas for the names of stuff let me know too. It was easy coming up with the concept, coming up with names for stuff is proving harder. Any imput is desired and welcome.
A question like.....Why doesn't the name show up in game over one of my jumpholes? When I test it in game you jump through it, but the name does not appear over it as you approach. Can't figure that one out.
Oh and I know there is absolutley no chance this will make it into 4.85. Thinking at a later update maybe.
Good idea, though if I am reading this correctly its mainly a backdoor entrance to the Corsairs from Outcasts and BH and vice versa. If I was wrong on that then put that aside.
Though everything else is more than I expected from a system post. Nice job on creating the back story for these systems, and might actually be good having them, could add some new routes as well as bring up some interesting actions on what factions will do to these jump holes.

You could call it a back door. I was thinking most proffitable but at the same time most dangerous smuggling routes. Each faction would have to go through one of the other factions Guard systems to use it as a shortcut for invasions. This would be very dangerous to try. For this reason i don't foresee that happening. Mainly it is a contested smuggling zone.

Cool. The pictures are just a rough skeleton of the idea. The distances between the jumpholes would depend on time it takes to trave for the traderoutes. Thanks for the input.

Sort of is. I am hoping it would not descend into Lots of OORP fighting. The idea is suppose to be a zone where both artifact and cardamine smugglers intercect. Thus giving both Corsairs and Outcasts a good place and reason to RP and fight over their differences. Imagine one day the Outcasts have more control over the system so the cardi smugglers are happy. The next it is overrun by Corsairs so now artifact smuggling rules the day. A place and reason for Cappie battles too. It is sort of another version of Omicron Eta but with smuggling routes. The bountyhunters were added to the mix mainly to give them a faster route to the Order, without having to go through Gamma making that RP a little more convenient. Plus liberty could hire them to try to thwart the route. Of the 4 factions involved i could see taking the bounty hunters out of the mix if so desired.
The reasoning behind going through guard systems was that it would be tough to use this route for regular travel by anyone not belonging to one of the factions involved. Plus it shows how important this route would be to each of the sides involved. There would be 5 guard turrets around each of the holes in the guard systems and ideally they would have super strong shield busting guns but weak or nonexistant hull busters. Smugglers that want to use this route hopefully would have to align with one of the sides. Though it may be possible with work to create a truly neutral smuggler and work for both. Anyone that did not have the right rep would immediately have their shields drop on entering. The guards in system would finish you off. They could of course use the old routes already in the mod if they do not want to get involved.

that amount of corsair/outcast/bhg players in one system causes nobody will smugle thru this system anything and whole point is lost;)
