First, sorry 4 my English.

Ok the Idea is to give a Carrier (there is just the Liberty Carrier atm) Fighterbays so they can launch Fighter in Combat.

Think about the Fighterbay as a "turretweapon" like the Missile turrets you can find on Caps and GB. But they "fire" a single Fighter that attack the current Target. what kind of Fighter belongs to the Bay-class ( A Liberty Heavy Bay launchs a Heavy Liberty Fighter, a Bomber Bay launch a Bomber etc.) The Fighter Fights for 1 Minute and "return" to Fuel and reload back to the carrier ( let is disapear or explode) so the Bay need a long reload time maybe.

Give a Destroyer 1 bay, a Cruiser 2 a BS 3 and a carrier 6 that would be funny and its offer too abuse and RP options for it.

Well it is better than some of the carrier ideas, it has potential, if this can be done..

There have been many speculations as to adding fighter wing attatchements to carriers. But i'm afraid to say that it isn't going to happen any time soon, try and revive one of the older carrier threads instead of creating new ones, it can really help canons bank account balance.

i saw that before...battleships can fire kamikaze fighter...it tracks like a missile and explodes when it hit target.

This is very simple to make, but where is logic in that eludes me.

more effort than it's worth, I think.

For now, it's best that carrier-class ships simply try to always fly with fighter escorts (players, not npcs). This is a multiplayer game, and its an RP server, use those to your advantage.

I still think we should just make Carriers Player-dockable ships...
It's that simple. I expect it not even be that hard to implement. Plus: Many other mods already do that and it really adds depth.
For me that's the most logical thing and it would be great for RP....

Nightwind, it's been discussed before and although a lot seem to agree with you, for good reason, and although there are very few issues (if any), it has been refused (Or rather ignored). A big big shame since it would be a great addition.

This is essentially making carriers into missile toting battleships? The 'fighters' all appear to be kamikazee pilots too, interesting new tactics from the Navies:P
Good idea that could work but I don't think it would fit very well into Disco currently.

its a lot of extra work and programming for something that few people will use - really, we only have one carrier in the game right now (the liberty carrier), and we'll only be adding one more in 4.85 (the order carrier).

I think they're fine as is, the liberty carrier is designed like a battleship/dreadnaught, the order carrier is built like a battlecruiser. That balances them for pvp, while still allowing the player to RP as a carrier through teamwork with other players in smaller ships.

Use your imagination.

I thought it wouldn't be that much work since it already has been done and I hoped we could maybe adopt it...
