I never officially got your name, but you've got mine so there's no need to re-introduce myself, and judging from my data then I already know who I'm speaking to.
I wanted to thank you again for the fire support against those Makos. I doubt we would've held out on our own. Recon duty has its privileges, but we aren't outfitted for front line combat, not against ships that size, especially not on our own. As I said during our talk, two favors for two Makos. I know Curtis will disagree, but frankly I don't really give a damn if he does. I pay my dues on time.
Whoops. I was being rude again. My name is Sapphire, or Saffir, Raven - Keeper of Auxesia, and - well - the neural ID you saw is merely a translation. Which only adds to my humor when people don't realise it's me.
And don't worry about it. Truthfully, I tend to avoid casual conversation with the Primary Fleet of the Order, as it doesn't seem to end up... too well, most of the times. Oh well. Either way, the 'no firing on Mister Saris' order is still valid. Nice people get nice things, huh?
Don't even get me started on the Primary Fleet. I respect the chain of command, but there's a certain level of arrogance that goes above and beyond... Have you ever heard of the Ouroboros? An ancient serpent depicted as eating its own tail. Imagine that as a head going up someone's own ass and you'd understand.
The petty grudges both inside and outside of the organization and wanton misuse of assets for wasteful rescue operations and attacks on humanity as of late have really set the foundation for my opinion of my own people, but I still believe in the cause we stand for and I hope all the crap they say about you people standing in the way of fighting Nomads is just propaganda as we've come to discuss. I can't even begin to rationalize how many calls have been made that go above and beyond incompetency, but good soldiers follow orders. Thankfully I'm not that good of a soldier, and we didn't end up shooting one another, much to De'Rosario's protest.
So you've got two favors. Do with that as you will.
Pfffffffff. I wish more people would realise how misaligned Golanski's ways are.
Don't get me wrong, I really do expect more conflict in the upcoming days with the Order, as some of our people would like to get back at them, and I can't really blame them either - perhaps some lust for blood is still left in my body from my Core days too... But I would wish that people would realise that these conflicts are mostly pointless, particularly when it comes to dealing with the K'Hara. Maybe if they focused on the matters at hand, the issues in Liberty wouldn't be as bad.
Oh well. Favours noted, but as I said, it's really no issue. Don't get yourself into trouble now.
I've been in trouble since the day I left Manhattan with my wife and daughter. I've seen just how deep the rabbit hole goes and what happens to people when you hit the bottom. What matters is that you're able to pull yourself out of the hole and set your mind on a real threat, not hurt feelings, and if I wanted to waste my people's lives chasing after someone's mommy to the Independent Worlds instead of conducting a standard blow-op and cut off any access to the region instead of feeding them more lives for one person who works for a nation that has no interest in cooperating with us then I'd put on a god damn suit of armor and pretend to be a knight.
But I don't care about that. I care about getting results and doing my job so we can all sleep at night. I'll question orders if they're wrong and I won't waste my time with edgy rhetoric's and crying over people we've lost, because the more time we spend crying about it, the more people we're going to lose. Do I expect to get dragged in to this conflict between you and them? Oh, probably. It'll happen, and I just hope I can delay it as much as possible.
Please take this sentence as creepy as possible but I am beginning to like you a lot. You seem to take words out of my mouth. They're only going to lose more people if they continue this way, it's stupid.
You've been the first person in months who has used their damn brain and backed me up against insurmountable odds. In less than twenty-four hours since our return to the field, you've done more for me and my people than the Order has already. They've always been questioned by me but recent times tears it. I'll be as careful as I have to be, and you do the same - even around me.
There's no telling what'll happen if they find out I've badmouthed them with the enemy behind their backs.
I've got some grave news about my predicament. At approximately 14:55 SMT during an interdiction of a Kusarian Tokugawa-Class Battleship carrying illicit Nomadic materials out of Protectorate space, our support provided by the Order turned and began to fire upon our vessel mid-way through combat. Because of this, the Kusarian managed to escape, and despite ordering them to stand down, we received no response.
It is my belief that due to our current standing and recent visitation with you personally that they have caught wind of potentially losing another vessel, thus they attempted to make our destruction and execution appear as a casualty of combat. Because of this, whispers have begun to rise among several crew-members of potentially being hit again by our own people. We've left for the Omegas fourteen hours earlier than we were supposed to.
Whatever has to be done, needs to be done before we get hit again. They don't let go of things easily, and they sure as hell won't let go of this. It isn't any help that we've had sabotage on board lately, and it may be the individual responsible is attempting to waylay our destination for destruction. Whatever happens, we won't go down without a fight.
Betrayal or stupidity, they're both as bad as each other.
The only thing I can suggest from here is a list of options:
-You getting out alive with your personal vessel.
-You going down like a real trooper and sabotaging their goods.
-You getting out with information from them. Most likely too late to do that. But knowing how the Orders internals are structured is most curious to us.
We don't have the resources to take on another vessel of your size, but we can extract you out of the Order A bigger question is how. Which I don't know quite yet. I'd need to consult my people. How easy is it for you to come and go from the Ke-bee...Kebechet-... Big Cruiser ship. Yeah. How easy is it? Do you think it's possible to perhaps leave them a 'departing' gift on the vessel?
