Your name:James Erzie Your desired callsign:James Age:52 Origin:Origin Story Area of skills/expertise/experience:Energy Sciences and Alien Technologies Vessel(s):"Talandar" - "Constellation.Cancer"(By proxy) Past Contact with Auxesia:James and Raven are good friends, Raven being the one individual who knows James the most. They've exchanged good times and bad, both becoming better in the process. More specific instances can be provided. Why do you wish to help us?:Friends is all James has, Raven has stuck it out through the easy and difficult, and backed him up even at her own risk and detriment. Auxesia has done well and serves a good purpose, and the potential growth may spark a new age of protectorates, those most capable of defying the Nomad and pirate threats.
A fair greeting back to you, I'll be around as long as there is still progress to be had.
These materials, though few in number are quite the high order. Liquid Cardamine is in very limited supply, although I should be able to work something out. As for the alloy, I may have some in an old stockpile, so it shouldn't be too difficult to obtain. I'm sure we can arrange compensation more fitting than money... Knowledge is far more valuable.
Consider me "on board." I'll make preparations then be on the move.
-Dr. James Erzie
Hunt,
I show your requested supplies delivered to America Freeport; Cargo log evidence shown here.
Trusted personnel will be able to transfer the goods to you when you get there.
It would be a pleasure to see what this helps you accomplish, so if you can, I'd be delighted to hear more details.
Until next time,
-Dr. James Erzie
Thanks for handling that. The funds will be transferred to your account as soon as possible. It's more or less a concept test right now, specifically surrounding Cardamine users and their potential when making use of body armor modified to work with the given abilities the drug provides. The more I delve in to the project, the more I'll be able to tell you about it, but that's not the thing right now.
With some upcoming negotiations, I'll be turning my aging ship back over to its rightful owners. As it is now, we can't do much more to the Monument-Class frame. It's outdated, and despite modernization, it can't support a lot of the upgrades we were hoping to put in to use on a vessel of that size. Its equipment will be stripped and turned over to our second vessel.
However.
Because of the loss of what is our heaviest asset on the field, we're going to need something to compensate for it. Raven had an interesting idea about a craft, but not a Battleship replacement. As it's her idea and her notes, I'll have her pitch that to you. So far my expectations would be a lighter vessel than a Monument, obviously. Mobility to us is an important factor, so power-housing our way through situations isn't exactly ideal. I considered reconstructing another AP-535 like the Eidolon, but you can't exactly dish out an exact replica of such a vessel, and losing our heavy asset - Well, a Bullhead wouldn't bridge that gap sufficiently enough.
In short, a hybrid of some kind. If you're interested in hearing more, drop a note here and Raven can brief you further.
Hunt,
I've already heard a few whispers about this concept, but nothing coherent, I'd love to hear more, and influence it if you'd like me to.
-Dr. James Erzie
Anyway, as Hunt said, we don't need to rely on brute force of Battleships, which are naturally slow and hulky. But rather, agility and range and adaptation to the environment. I came up with a concept to compensate for our requirement for bombardment. Particularly how the Nomads seem to be bringing out nastier, stronger things, as well as our neighbours.
Of course, I don't expect anything to be developed from this any time soon, as we lack a shipyard to experiment at. But the concept is simple: It is a lighter and easier to maintain Battleship-Battlecruiser that excels at long distances - an artillery vessel, but can suffer greatly from bombers and light interdictors, as it compensates the material for more firepower. The reward in this outweights the risk, as it can simply be covered with escorts - or by careful usage. If anything gets in the way of the guns, it's dead. Or well, I hope it works out anyway. That's the plan. But naturally, investigations and deeper planning comes first.
Or, uh, well, diplomacy first. Flipping Liberty.
Perhaps you can assist us with finding and designing a suitable power module for it? You can collaborate with the designers about it, which is recommended.
A troubling project, but I've meddled around in power grids enough that I could work something up. Creating a suitable power generator without excessive mass is always a problem; one some mutual friends have practically solved.
If you'd like I could go more in depth in the design, as I've kept my vessel afloat in hard conditions with simple modifications, although specialization is often separate from versatility. Count me in, I'll do whatever I can to aid in this undertaking. I'll need good personnel to work with on it, which I expect you'd associate yourself with nothing less.
That's good to hear, but, the project can't quite start until we sort things out concerning Bretonia and Liberty. As for compensation and rewards, well, we can talk about that later.
I'll leave a note when things start to roll. There's a lot of things to do.
Oh, and uh, another thing. Don't tell anyone about this.
