No.
No we don't.
Some factions just shouldn't be made into player factions really. Mostly because of such low potential of interest amongst players. I'm not speaking of ageira, your'e right that there should by all means be a player faction for them. It's just some other factions that are company player factions seem to have just been made because they can. And so not much motivation goes into them as a result.

The problem with this is that they don't actually have any authority over the lanes anymore. A House can ask them to repair a damaged lane or help them with maintaining a lane, however, all houses, except maybe Liberty, have nationalized their lanes and gates now, and they are the property of the house government, not Ageira.
If you look back, there was a bunch of guys called Lane Security which opened fire on "AFA Pirates," at which point Kusari told them to leave, because the lanes were not under their jurisdiction anymore, but Kusari's jurisdiction. Rheinland decided the same thing, and the Lane Security went out of business.
As to the border worlds, IMG owns the Lanes in Tau-31 and Omega-7, Kusari in Tau-29, GMG in Sigma 13 & 19, BAF in Omega-3, and the LN in Cortez, Magellan, Bering, Kepler, Galileo, and Hudson. You don't actually own anything anymore. If someone asks you to repair them, or something of the sort, you can, but you can't do anything otherwise.
EDIT: I also disagree with you, Ash. Every faction has a right to be made into a player faction.

@remora:
A very good question you ask there, i have been thinking about that and basically, this is what i came up with.
Ageira would be a company that abuses the fact that they have the money and the tech to impose there will upon those that stand in there way. They wouldn't hesitate do do something that is a bit illegal if it gets them more profit. an example: Lets say there is someone who is interested in buying special hybrid(nomad) weapons. The ageira arms dealers would be more than willing to supply him with that. Now the LPI comes along and orders them to drop those weapons, what would they do then. Simple, bribe the officer(s), they are corrupt, so they can be bought, if not, maybe blackmail the government to allow these thing to happen.
This would make the lanehackers a group that no longer want to be like this, and try to make Ageira walk the right path again. What did ageira do, they made them look like the evil ones, and they use there influence and money to make sure they would be hunted down and destroyed.
@BaconSoda
I can see what you are getting at, and maybe i didn't explain it the right way, but what i see with maintaining (cause that would basically be the main thing we could do) is that lets say the Rheinland officials would ask Ageira/DSE to do the maintenance of a tradelane somewhere in Rheinland. It would than be some kind of an event. The Rheinland lawfulls would need to make sure the tradelane isn't used by any player and they would need to assist in protecting the maintenance vessels (transport and repair ship) from pirate attacks. For Rheinland unlawfulls is this the opportunity to cripple the Rheinland government by "destroying" the maintenance crews and thus making the tradelane unaccessible for a longer period.(this part still needs some working out, but this is how i see it). So it all comes down to more of an event for multiple factions, not just ageira.
Now this can only work if both Rheinland lawfull/unlawfull player factions want to do this. It all depends on these factions because they would have to make the request for the maintenance, not Ageira.In my eyes this should give allot of people an hour or so of RP fun.
Now if you wonder if this can be done with the proper RP, just think about it. Why would ageira, who keeps there tradelane tech a big secret learn people who in there eyes "stole" there tradelanes (Ageira wasn't really happy with the whole nationalization of there tradelanes) to maintain them. Because if you teach people to repair them, what is keeping them from building them thereselfs? I don't think it is going to be the good will of those "thieves" that will prevent that. And you can say whatever you like, but everything breaks down eventually, if not properly maintained.
Now about lane security, in this faction, i see them more as the high payed, well equipped private security force that ageira uses to defend its stations/convoys with, maybe even to hunt down pirates who bother them to much.
