Can you be more clear?
What do you mean? Are the wreaks completely gone?
Are you aware that a ship can collect a codename just once? You can only shoot it once to get a codename. If you do it again the next day with the same ship then you wont get a drop.
Wrecks are still there, they drop everything but the code...
Been trying with new chars on new acounts and old ones who already collected. Even single player has the problem.
Also in the Loadouts.ini , they seem to be disabled in that.
Flstat still showing them as present and owned guns still useable just not collectable

Codenames were removed from wrecks in anticipation of different ways to acquire them, accompanied by the addition of more codenames (likely ones for other classes than just fighters and bombers, too). For now, you'll have to rely on purchasing existing ones from players.

Seems to me that a unilateral decision without reference to the players is more than a little high-handed. I would have voted to keep the current code system and strenuously object to the fact that now you can just buy them at stations. Removes the challenge and the fun of code hunting. I have no reason to dare the Nomads of the Omicrons if I'm not going after code weapons. None at all.

Hi, I like the idea of more different ways of obtaining stuff, but you just removed one way of obtaining stuff.
I would totaly understand if the removal from wrecks was done at the moment of implementing the new ways. Althought I myself would do it the other way around, implement new ways first, then disable the old, unnecessary ones.
To still make use of wrecks: Set a 10% change of CODE drop, but allow looting a wreck multiple times on one character. With random refresh of the wreck. Maybe even shuffle the CODEs between wrecks and add more wrecks to make it more search oriented. This might not be possible due to game limitations.
Can you please clarify what "in anticipation" means? Do we have expected release date, or progress state of this? For how long will we have to rely on purchasing existing ones from players? I expect that these players will hold on to those weapons, once they find out, that it is not possible to aquire them anymore. I certainly would and will.
What pisses me the most, again, is the way it was done. Quietly, without a notice!
(The change was made around 9.1.2017, so Hannibals post is about a week late. Probably in reaction to this thread or shoutbox discussions.)
This is evidently a new trend here. Change something and let the community to figure it out.
Maybe I wouldnt be so pissed at this point if I didnt spend a good ammount of hours during January updating the Tutorial: CODENAME locations [4.88.5] It was fun, but the joy has turned a bit bitter now. There is no point in updating the tutorial anymore apparently.
Would be nice if they would remove the wrecks if they are going to remove the drops. Doesn’t make any sense to keep a wreck with 0 drop. At least add something in replacement instead for the time being. Say 100,000 credit chips or something.
