I am Colonel Eliza Valdez and I represent the Maltese Legion which hopefully you're already familiar with from our recent operations into Liberty. I contact you regarding a proposition. Soon there will be a big military operation against the Crayterian forces in Coronado. To be more precise we aim to bring the united Maltese fleet into their home and destroy their stations in the system and thus cull their influence over the region which has grown while we had been idle. Their attempts to patrol and police the Barrier corridor from Cortez to the Taus has hampered our mutual smuggling operations for far too long and we fear that if we let them enjoy their comfort there any longer we risk things only getting worse.
There have already been large scale preparations on our side for this to happen and we will strike from the Barrier Rim when the time comes. What we need from you is to provide an ambush near the Cortez jumphole from where we expect to see reinforcements coming to the Crayterian side. Should you decide to participate you will be entitled to the spoils of war - be they glory, captives or valuable cargo and technology we can plunder from the smoldering remains of their stations.
I am certain you see both the short and long term benefits of this operation succeeding and am eager to hear what you have to say about our offer for cooperation.
O' ya good Maltese peepels', ya steel existin'. Good to hear 'bout yer kind, and o' yes, Someone tol' me about the Legión Maltesa crushing thins' around , with which a'm completely' fine and I even dare to admit ya' doin' a good job with the naive Navies, flying your naves.
*A small pause, hearing swallowing noises on the background*
About the offer, firstly I'd like to know exactly with what this move will help me and ma' boys' , concretely on complete-ing the drinkin' scale and the bottl's in Alcatraz. Ya' know we all fight for a cause... I don't want to see the Ol' Flynt floatin' in space once again ya' know what I mean?
*Another pause, hearing the same noises on the background*
The next, lemme' tell ya our guys are...how to say it...they just' love sitting at the bar. Will be realle difficult' to make 'em move their dirty trousers and put them on such a work. Being politically involved in things made the Ol' Rhys cry once, and all the bar heard the drama and ya' know I try to evade such things.
*Once again a pause, but this time got slightly longer*
Our ships! Ya as you might knoe' our vessels aren't prepared to fly to such distant places *tries to hide the lie* and madame I won't share my Rum with the fuel tanks on the dirty Hyena, no! Not agen!
I'm goin' to sleep naw and I'll transmit these to the boys If I happen to find them around. Ya tell me what to do an' I'll tell you what ya'll have,
Apologies for the delay, preparations for the assault took the best of me. Seems like promises of death and glory aren't your thing? Seems like all you care about are those spirits to keep your spirits up? Well then, help us cull the Crayterian influence in Coronado and once our transports are free to move freely we'll make sure to deliver you all the Gin you could drink in a lifetime freshly from Bretonia. And it's not even going to be second hand stuff, it'll be straight from the distilleries at London. Or perhaps you would rather have some Rum from the Omicrons? Or if I have misunderstood what you truly stand for we are ready to offer credits and Cardamine as well if that is what you wish in return.
As for what we need from you, we need you to help us assault the Crayter positions near the planet. Our forces will be advancing from the Barrier Rim and would most likely draw their attention which would be a good opportunity for your strike wings to flank them while coming from the Cortez jumphole. Such an assault from both sides would leave the enemy ranks broken and ensure a swift victory with minimal losses. Once we have eliminated their main battle force you will be free to pursue any transports trying to flee with valuable cargo.
So if you agree on this you both get the promised goods delivered as well as anything else you might manage to steal from the Crayterians during this lovely murder expedition. How does this offer sound to you?
Good to hear bout you again, Maltese. I would lie If I tell you the offer doesn't sound interestin' for us. My face illuminated while reading the whole wall o' text an' I couldn' actually breathe. Gin is on' o' us favourite liquids for filling up our cuppas' and we completely lack of it since the Tealand to Libre'land broke its exportations of Gin, or a' least that's what It seems.
Altrough the offer makes me jump from seat to seat and from table to table in the bar, firing both of ma' pistols in the air, I'd like to hav' a word in all'o this. Ya can fill up ur' bar and we will have from where to drink, but ya' know this bottl's will be over in a few weeks, being realistic even in a few days.
So regarding to the lack of transports flying without the so valuous booze, we must arrange something' in order to provide us more oportunities on the hunt, I dun know I'f ya understand ma' point, eh? After the job, I'd like to remain in contact with the Legion and the Maltese people, with who we will arrange convoys to fill up tha' bar, from Omicrans to Californy.
If ya can do that for us, we will most likely gib' us a hand on zhis.
Keeping good relations with the Rogues of Liberty is something the Maltese Legion has high interest in. Arranging joint smuggling convoys is indeed possible, though our cargo ship fleet is currently small. Regardless of that fact I'll see what could be done about that, I'm sure we could repurpose some old boats. Though I hope you'll find it reasonable that most likely these convoys will begin after the assault has been concluded as we currently have all our hands filled with the preparation for the attack.
Our man will be reede' when the bells will ring. All our drunken but still clever peeps' will be moving for a cause, with a shared destiny: The victory!
For your part, we will keep on touch. A new era for the booze merchancy is about to come. They won't believe me when I'll tell 'em.

As you may already be aware the operation in Coronado was a complete success. The Crayterian forces were obliterated near planet Pecos with almost minimal losses on our side and the Minerva Research Center soon followed their demise under the combined firepower of our fleet. We are thankful to have such good allies in Liberty. Now that the important business is over, perhaps it's time for some celebrations, don't you think? Drinks are on us! Once you lot sober up we might talk of future projects again.
