old vs new for a return player: Discuss

So, I'm cruising around shooting stuff in my newly outfitted fighter.

Feels good man.

I go through the usual loops, practicing on NPC's and what not since I've been flying a transport most of my time back. haha.

And all of a sudden, my cannon ball missiles aren't working. (granted I haven't been able to fire a single one using the hotkey) Works fine with it activated. Is this a known issue? User error?

I'm returning from the days of 4.84/5 I think.

What happened to O-eta? such a beautiful system. And the minefield was...to die for. kekeke.

I know there are some huge differences between my time and this one.

Reading up on a lot of lore already. About to roll up my new Outcast toon. Just looking to chat about old and new disco stuff and a little Q&A.

The hotkey thing is because of the changes around the Class 10 Auxiliary slot. Try the torpedo hotkey or just assign it to it's own weapon group like I do.

Also, the Omicrons and the Omegas are very different to how they were back in the day. There's an interactive navmap here on the forums in that top bar thingo if you want to reference it.

I've spent a week reading up on everything. But a lot of the in game stuff has been streamlined if you know what you want to do.

Do NOT like the lack of active population. Breaks my heart and I'm almost tempted to try and grab fresh meat. Tried contacting a few of similar era that I used to run with and the only one who's replied has developed rheumatoid arthritis

BUT. I brought a friend along with my return this time. We've been doing the whole money making thing, so if you want to party up in game some time I'd gladly help set the hook to keep a returning player active.

So similar to me! I remember when almost every system was bustling with activity, or at least the major hubs. I know its a bit naive to thing it will recover like that again but it never hurts to try. I brought both my roommate and one of my old friends into the disco community and hopefully they will find a place.

Glad to be back and good to see someone returning.
