Minami was extremely hyped. Finally after weeks she was going to see Florence again! She had to prepare everything for her arrival, feeling that Florence wasn't taking her sweet time getting here but rather eagerly wanted to see Mi again just like Mi wanted to see Flo again, Mi knew she had only about two hours to prepare everything.
Those next two hours were filled with cleaning up a bit more than usual, quickly getting a few ingredients she hadn't had for the supper she would prepare later for them. But this only took her slightly more than an hour, the rest of the time until Florence was going to arrive she passed with dressing up for her love; Mi went with something contrary to her normal style, she went for a rather tight fitting white shirt, leaving the three upper buttons opened, and a black, for her standards surprisingly long skirt.
Now she sat on her sofa, yearningly waiting for her love.. slowly she drifted off into a sweet daydream of how her and Florence might spend the next days together.. she got so lost in thoughts that she didn't even notice the first time Florence rang the doorbell.
"Àlo?" Came from outside of Mi's house that Florence already knew, the classic kusarian arts and ways of living, all the books and all the traditional things she had, they just fell back into her head as she knocked on the door a second time, still no response. "Is she home yet?" She mumbled to herself and looked on the little watch she had on her left arm. She was right on time, Mi must have been home, if she hasn't lost herself on the way back. Florence leaned to the side to see past the walls of the house, was she outside? Nothing. "Hmm..." She started to walk alongside the sidewalls of the house, heading to Mi's neat backyard. She looked around the corner to see if she was waiting for her outside, for whatever reason, nothing, no Mi. She stood in the middle of the backyard now and wondered if it made sense to ring again if she wasn't home yet, so she decided to look through the balcony door et voilá, there she was, sitting on the couch and looking at the ceiling, still no reaction. "Miii!" She yelled from outside, the thick glass suppressed her voice to for the most part, so she carefully knocked against it, hoping she would finally wake up from her daydreaming.
Minami flinched when she finally heard Florence knocking against the window. Did she really get lost like this? She blushed weakly, swiftly got up and accidently threw a small folder full of personal notes off the table. Not even noticing it she got to the balcony door, opened it and almost jumped at Florence, hugging her tightly. "Flo..my sweet Kanojo.. Gomen'nasai, I was.. uh, thinking about.. a surprise for later!" She quickly told her, the blush slowly disappearing on her face and a sweet happy smile replacing it.
MI's tackle hug almost made them fall backward but Florence was able to catch herself just before. "Mi, I thought you'd leave me out here the whole time now." She said and laughed at her, she found it just adorable how happy she was to see her again, not that she didn't feel the same way, it had truly been some time since the two women saw each other in person again. "For a second I thought you would leave me out here for the whole time." She said with a bright smile and then came close to her neck and smelled at her. "Mon Dieu, what is that smell? It is wonderful, let's go in, shall we?" She stepped into Mi's living room and looked around for a moment, everything was the same as before, as if she never headed back home after Florence had to leave to fight for the Royal Navy, a tough time but seemingly good for her, Florence looked more "alive" than she did when they saw each other the last time. But the distance from her chéri and her own life made it tough in the long run, the relief of seeing a close on near, was clearly visible in her face. "So? What did you do before I came here?" She smiled and sat down on a chair with one leg over the other one.
Mi acted like she didn't hear this cute comment about her smell and just leaded her love wordless inside the house, she herself sat down on the sofa again, she noticed the folder on the floor and quickly picked it up and put it back in the table after a moment of hesitation. Mi glimpsed at Florence, hoping she wasn't all too curious about the folder she answered her love's question then. "E~to.. today or since last time we saw each other in space?"
A longer smalltalk would surely distract Florence from the folder and Mi really didn't mind telling her kanojo no ai about her daily life anyways, so it was fine, right?
Florence smirked at Mi for a while before answering, she seemed kind of innocent, although she knew she wasn't. "Both if you want, tell me about it." She put her legs up the chair and leaned her head on the kneecaps. For a moment she glimpsed down at the blog that Mi had picked up with a rather strange expression. She wondered if there was something inside she wasn't allowed to see but didn't bother to annoy Mi with that within the first minutes they met. Instead she focused back at her.
Mi started to smile brightly at her love. Just as expected.. a smalltalk followed by other stuff. Great and simple plan. "Hai, so.. most of the time was just the usual stuff, hunting some people down and so on. You know the drill.. well, except two days ago. There I got to deal with a little nuisance hauler flying for Kishiro. Let's just say that a bit pressure made them pay a beautiful sum of which I was allowed to keep a share. I used some of it for.. something."
She started to smirk and moved a bit closer, keeping eye contact with that wonderful beauty she was happy to call love. "And today? A bit cleaning, I only returned here last night.. then I just had a quiet peaceful day here. Met some friends earlier next door.. and then your message arrived. Oh dear, you couldn't even imagine how quickly I got to prepare stuff for today and tomorrow. You.. you will stay the whole time of your days off, hai?"
Florence listened at Mi's story as concentrated as possible, eyeing her all the time and imagining the scenarios in her head and how she would have handled them. Mi had such an interesting life as well, although it was an unlawful one, Florence knew the life on that side of the law, at least a part of it, she never got into the real crime scene. Hearing Mi talking about her life reminded her of her old one, on the street, with the other kids and teens but she didn't want to strive in thoughts of the past longer than necessary, she would only loose focus on her chéri. "Oui, oui, although I only have like... three, I think, the crown doesn't like if we go too far out for too long, you know, in case we don't return for... whatever reasons." She sighed and thought about all the pro-Gallia propaganda that had turned her into a patriotic soldier, but while she was aware, she never regretted it. "I really wish I could be here for longer, maybe soon, I am doing good work, le Maréchale is pleased, as far as I know." She said and smiled to take away the short moment of fear or sadness Mi might have felt. "Sounds like you had interesting days, I am glad you were that exited when I said I would come." She giggled and tilted her head to the left a little.
Mi sighed weakly. Just three days? Stupid Gallic politics and rules, then again it reminded her of something. The regulations many, many sisters told her about. Family traditions restricting everyone's thinking, it was somehow similar in Gallia.. just that they managed to manipulate billions of people. Mi shook her head weakly, three days was better than nothing. "Three days, huh? Let's make them the best three days of the whole month then!" She said cheerfully, smiling brightly. Yep, three days was fully sufficient, for a while atleast. "And.. uh, you do well? That's nice, tell me more.. how are things really going? A promotion awaiting you or something like this?" Mi asked and ignored Florence's last sentence with the exception of her giving Flo a bright smile again.
"Oh! Before you start.. something to drink or a little snack maybe?"
"Well..." Florence made and stood up, clapping her hands together once as she did so. She continued to walk around Mi's table in the living room and come to a stop on the other side where she leaned on it with her arms. "There have been a few promotions already and... you know, I hope there are more to come." She giggled and looked up at the ceiling again, wondering if she might have forgot something. A second later she was focused back at Mi again. "But apart from that - nothing, the Roi just likes if his soldiers are working hard and then there's also the community service, I even thought about commiting social police service in my free time but that would require me to spend even more time in ships and aaagh..." She pushed her hands on her face and sat down on a chair, although it seemed like she would be extremely stressed, she had to laugh, so much dedication which she would have loved to put into her home, but thinking that she could see even less was just not a nice thought. "Et oui, a drink would be nice, I am dying right here, a glass of fresh juice would be heaven now, in case you got something, if not, water will suffice... chéri." She paused a little before calling her 'chéri' again, she never did it before a lot, although it was a common word, paired with a bright grin on her face when she said to her.
