H, have played this game but not online, and only did the missions once a few years ago. Getting beat over the head with the learning curve .. the forums are a bit messy fer finding info. didn't know crgo pods were only bullett catchers, my waypoint routes get lost at jump30 quit often. flew my transport with no guns for 2 runs till i fugure they took up cargo space.. lol Very encouraged so far. only pvp i saw went south fast, thought i was helping out some player but then the liberty cops started at me heavily. players were asking me wtf?? then told me to only roleplay. so i couldn't figure out what i did wrong. wasn't sure if the forums were active or not... Kerfy is my account, he will be joining universal dhipping when possible. I think i am not supposed to have a mine id and a freelancer id on ship at same time ?? a bit confused on the whole ID tag thing.. looks like i may stay in just one spere of influence till i get settled in.. lol didnt know my ship was too big to dock at a planet either.. lol Still, I am haveing fun. Looking to get a firefly right away. sorry .. long babble, but i got a boatload of questions .. thnx fer having me..
Firstly, welcome to the game and to the forums! Only snubs (fighters, bombers, and freighters) can dock on planets using Docking Rings, for larger ships you will need to use the Mooring Fixtures directly above them. It's hard to say what happened to you in Liberty without much context but you should find that most players are happy to answer your questions (remember to preface out-of-roleplay messages with '//'). You can also post queries in this subforum.
Somewhere to start would be reading the roleplay laws for the houses, which you can find here. You're right that you're not supposed to fly around with more than one ID on a ship; it's actually against the server rules, which you should also read before doing anything else. Another resource I always recommend to new players is @sindroms's Let's Play series, which shows the entire process of starting out on the server really well. It's a couple of years old now, so a few details might be out of date, however.
ID is basicly heart of your character, it define him, restrict him and gives him autority.
ID defines what can you do, and what you cant. For example, copmability or military ID gives you autority to enforce laws in house you work, punish pirates, defend traders and so on . On other hand, Pirate and criminal/s ID alowes you to to ask money or cargo from traders, or kill them if they refuse.
Thats why you cant have 2 ID , you cant be pirate and cop. Decide what you want to be, choose one ID per character and stick to ID restrictions listed on every ID .
