So, I have a terrible problem with Discovery. I get a black screen, like it powered off. My vents start to spin fast, and I hear a Windows error sound, but because of the turned off screen, I cant see or read which one is it. Seems that the laptop is still running, only that I cant see anything. Only thing I can do is restart my laptop and go back in the game. It happens very rarely; sometimes it happens 5-6 times in a row, sometimes only once and doesn't happen for 7 days. Figured it's some graphic problem, so I tried lowering the visual quality of the game and it does the trick, but my laptop is well capable of running Discovery, so doubt graphic card is the problem. I tried to reinstall the game and it didnt help, I also updated my drivers, and it didnt help either.
I'm also playing some other games, some being new, some old, I watch movies & TV shows, I even use laptop for some simulations for my work. Everything is much more demanding ( performance wise ) and my laptop never had any problem except with Disco.
So, did anyone have this problem? Does anyone know how to solve it? Anything would be helpful, as this thing is quite annoying. Not that it bothers me much, if it happens in wrong time, I might get sanctioned for disconnecting.

In case you disconnect and cannot reconnect quickly during player-to-player interactions as a reason of techincal difficulties/RL issues use this thread to inform whoever you were interacting with.
"It's not a compliment, it's a matter of fact. I never saw you whining about stuff when it didn't go your way, you never do ooRP-arranged stuff, you're active, you're good at playing your character ingame and you're neutral enough to not end up as a clown infront of the community."

Try to use windowmode and check, if the crash still happens.
It's hard to try anything as it doesnt happen often, nor it happens on the same place or same spot. But this morning it happend to me 3-4 times in a row, and after I put all my graphic details to lowest possible, it stopped. So I also figured my graphic card is the problem, but why it only affects Discovery Freelancer, and not anything else?
Next time it happens, I can try running in windowed mode to see if it helps, but dunno when will that be.

I know that, thank you anyways. But sometimes it happens 3-4 times in a row, as in, I reconnect, it happens 30 seconds later. So it's annoying for me and for other players, no matter how much I post in this thread.
Freelancer is a old game, maybe your graphic card doesn't like to load a specific line of the code, where it sometimes manage to kill your driver, at least this would explain why you get a black screen and your fan is running on a high RPM.
It would also help, if you tell us which graphic card your notebook is using.
Edit: When you installed disco, did you allowed the installer to install the bloom effect?

I'm running Starlancer all fine, together with Serious Sam & some others. They are even older than Freelancer, and ever had problems with them.
My graphic card is Nvidia Quadro 2000M, with 2GB DDR5. It's more for 3D modelling and simulations, but I ran some quite demanding games on it. And yes, I have bloom mod installed.
Edit: Just happend, returned to game in window mode, doesn't help.
try to make a partition to play disco with another OS? it's just an idea.
Or try to see your hard disk capacity to see if it change or not, i mean several gigas more, in past i made an error and the game was running as server, not all times but sometime. 3 or 5 giga added each 5 minutes ingame. again, it's just an idea
