I told you the other day that I had a job for you. I hope you're still interested in making some money. The job isn't very hard, but I could use someone outside my group to do it.
To put it simply, I've been working on a group of Sirians called Forlorn Hope. I'm almost certain they are harmless, only good at barking, but they've been playing hard to get. I need you to harass them outside the Gallic Borderworlds to see if they can actually bite or if they're just reckless and stupid.
If you think you can do that and tell me how it went, I'll give you a little something for your work. Maybe remind one or two of them that it isn't nice to idle around when people are waiting for their money.
INCOMING TRANSMISSION... Comm ID:Claude Bertrand Encryption:Enabled Message Type:Voice only Location:Boulogne Base, Picardy You mean to tell me that you want me to go to Sirius, have some fun times, and tell you how it went, while you'll be paying me for it? Well, it's you who're losing out, but I'll do it, as long as you keep your end of the bargain. I'll head to Rousillon tomorrow, it seems like the best place to gear up, refuel, and start hunting. I'll let you know how it went and whom I met.
INCOMING TRANSMISSION... Comm ID:Claude Bertrand Encryption:Enabled Message Type:Voice only Location:Caussade Depot, Roussillon I thought it was time for a progress report. I've got good news and bad news for both of us. The bad news is that I haven't run across any Forlorn in the Taus yet. So, not much has changed in that regard since we last talked. The good news are good mostly for me, but you might benefit from it too, depending on how you look at it.
Remember how you wanted to hire more of Les Damnés? Well, now you can. I found a few people here on Caussade, a Maquis depot in Roussillon. They managed to retain an old Asco gunboat called "Le Boucher Heureux", or "The Happy Butcher", as the Sirians would call it. That alone is a good piece of news, but more importantly, we have a good captain for the ship.
Klara Fabento, a former Maquis. Not as talkative as me, but she knows her job. She used to run with us, but ended up going on her own after some nasty business on Boulogne that I mentioned to you earlier. She's still eager to help me out, and by extension it means that she can help you out, either with this project of yours, or with something else.
Trust me, you want to have Fabento on your side. So what is it gonna be?
Sure I don't have any problem with her. If she is a friend of yours, I can pay her to do the same I've hired you to. It's probably easier and faster if I have the two of you doing it.
If she isn't as interested in attacking Sirian ships as you are, I can always use an extra ship escorting my transports.
