INCOMING TRANSMISSION... Comm ID:Claude Bertrand Encryption:Enabled Message Type:Voice only Location:Caussade Depot, Roussillon This is a courtesy call from one of those who used to call Boulogne home a few years ago. Does the name Remy Moreau ring a bell? If it does, I'm letting you know that he got himself in trouble.
He hired me and my friend Klara Fabento as escorts, when he apparently got a message that some Crayterians wanted to negotiate in Tau-29. We travelled there towards the jump hole to meet up with an Asco gunboat called "Riptalon". Yet Remy was surprised to find out that instead of some Nathen he was supposed to meet he heard a female voice of some Eve. The next moment Sirian mercs started pouring in through the jump hole like it was a parade or something. They belonged to a group called Forlorn Hope.
Apparently Remy had some sort of issues with Forlorn Hope, as he had hired me earlier to look into them. That Eve was also on their side and attacked us along with the mercs. We ended up in a massive shootout, which I barely made it out of alive. Not many Forlorn left in their own ships either.
Anyway, my point being, Remy was in the fight as well, his ship exploded, and I didn't see what happened to the escape pod because I was too busy making sure I wouldn't end up spaced. So oui, if any of you knew the guy or find that piece of news valuable, do send some francs to my account (it's Claude.Bertrand) or just buy me a beer the next time I end up on Boulogne.
I wasn't expecting to hear about Remy like this. These are truly sad news. I knew my brother was extorting that group of Sirians, but I never expected they could get to him like that.
Despite everything you've said, I think one of the most concerning news is your mention of Nathen and Eva. We've never seen eye to eye with them, mais I didn't expect that they'd do something as low as using a group of Sirians to try to kill one of us. Turns out for all their talk of uniting the Brigands under one group, they're just another bunch of backstabbing brutes.
I'm glad to know that he managed to destroy some ships, with your help. I've wired a small token of appreciation for your assistance. If you manage to find out what happened to his pod, I'd be most grateful.
