[To]:The Pentagon, Department of Defence [From]:LSF Secondary Officer Danny Cohen [Subject]:Request for Judicial Review of Adapted Weaponry Research [Encryption]: High
To whom this may concern,
I am requesting a Judicial Review of the Liberty Laws as it seems they may be outdated. I have attached below the relevant documents which prove that the Liberty Security Forces, including secondary units, may equip adapted weaponry as we are currently in the process of conducting extensive research. The goal of the research is to determine the safety and viability of its general introduction into the Liberty Armed Forces at some point in the distant future.
If you take a look at Section III Equipment, Sub-section 1 Weaponry, of the Liberty Laws Document [Please Click Here to View], you will find that the regulations state that all Adapted Nomad Weaponry has been deemed illegal throughout Liberty. This is clearly an unfortunate legal oversight on the part of the government, as the Liberty Security Force would not, and could not, conduct any form of illegal research otherwise.
Normally, such an oversight would not be a problem. However, approximately six weeks ago, this legal misunderstanding created a minor incident in which an officer of the 5th Fleet demanded I either un-equip the adapted weapons I had on my ship, or face arrest. Although I had forwarded her the two aforementioned documents I had linked earlier in order to prove to her that the Liberty Security Force has a research program into adapted weapons, she refused to listen to reason. Eventually, I required the intervention of 404 Agt. Pallbearer who asserted that although Secondary Forces are sub-ordinate to the Primary Fleets of Liberty, this only pertained to the relevant services. This meant that the previously mentioned officer of the 5th Fleet would only be allowed to command Secondary Liberty Navy forces and that her command did not extend to other branches of the Liberty Armed Forces, specifically, the Liberty Security Force.
Regrettably, this incident occurred in full view of the public, who then came to know that the LSF is performing research into adapted weapons. Even though this was not illegal thanks to the freedom of speech laws within our House, discretion and secrecy are the most valued commodities within the Intelligence Community. Many secrets such as this one, are often the difference between life and death for those of us who work to secure this House from foreign operatives & agents of terror.
Although the situation was temporarily resolved, such incidents only promote rivalry and impassioned enmity among the different branches of the Liberty Armed Forces. This naturally present a threat to national security because if we are rivals, we cannot work together to secure this House. In order to avoid such misunderstandings and incidents in the future between the LSF and the Liberty Navy, I am requesting the initiation of a judicial review into the legality of the intelligence forces of Liberty equipping hybrid/adapted nomad weapons so that the situation is resolved from the top, permanently.
I genuinely appreciate your taking the time to consider my request, thank you.
Sincerely,
Danny Cohen,
