I heard there's a new sheriff in the Omicrons. And honestly, if I had to guess, I would never hit the jackpot.
Enma Loyola, I'll be damned. I've heard stories and all, but if someone told me you're going to be my boss one day...wow.
But hey, who am I to judge, right? Don't get me wrong, you're a welcomed change.
Anyhow, I didn't call you to beat around the bush. I'm contacting you to brief you on my current occupation.
Since I stepped down as Big Daddy of the Core, I've been spending my time on the Ehrgeiz, near Dagger Station.
With Gabs...M.I.A. someone had to command Taskforce Ehrgeiz.
We've been closely studying the planet and fending off any bandits that dare come close. However, it's gotten worse as of late.
Battlegroup Ehrgeiz's support fleet of snubs was sent back to Yaren to reinforce the front, but that's okay. We had Anassi with us.
However, yesterday, the Anassi went silent, We sent a scouting party, but they went silent as well. But more on that later.
What I meant to say is, I'm ready to serve my new Guildmistress. I'd prefer to stay in the Omegas and reinforce Dagger Station.
If you deem it worthy, maybe I can get a few more good men down here to back me up so we can fight the Red Communist Invaders, amongst other things.
Of course, that's up to your judgement. We can hold on as it is, but with Anassi out of the picture, we're won't be holding for too long.

Hola Jack.
I am not familiar to the Omegas and I haven't even been there aside of few flights with Raven and Valdez. I will trust you as a professional and approve your command over this sector. My actual military qualification allows me to command one fighter or bomber squadron, but I don't believe I can carry out something more. My field is politics and organization, so first of all I expect a report in coming days with your take on the situation.

I find it very pleasing to hear that. We need a leader, not just a soldier.
As for your decision to leave things in my hands, well...
I'll do my absolute best not to fail you. But uh, it's a rough universe, so my best isn't always enough.
Now, to the point. The situation in Omega-55 is, to be frank, quite unique.
We have all the ingredients for a proper four-way battle royal, however, it's not happening.
The system is a great staging point, but nothing more.
Resource-wise, it's a desert. Apart form a few wrecked ships, nothing of value has been found to date.
That's reason all parties keep to themselves, there's nothing to die for. Or atleats it has not been found yet.
I, of course, aim to change that. Planet Absconsum is a possible source of knowledge, but more on that later.
I'm attaching an updated map of the sector.
1: Ostrava Asteroid Field, the smuggler's backdoor in and out of Rheinland.
As a bonus, there's a junker backwater station snap in the middle of it, or well, almost.
And honestly, for all it's bad rep, this place ain't so bad. The things you can get there are amazing.
The black market is really, really booming nowdays. Anyhow, not a real threat.
We should keep an eye on them, but nothing more. Blackmarket resources can be useful for science projects.
2: The Coalition. They have their own installation in the system,
Kamchatka station. We haven't been getting lots of heat from them, but they definitely are threat we should consider.
Observe and avoid would be the best course of action towards them.
3: Omega-41 Jumphole and the scrap field around it. All kinds of bad things lurk there.
Corsairs pouring in from 41, Hessians coming after them to ruin their day and of course, all kinds of hoodlums, scamps and rascals.
If that's now enough, there's a steady flow of Wilde ships. Although usually minding their own business, they sometimes become... troublesome.
As for that debries field, some weird stuff going on in there. Scrambled signals, devastated ships and a general "frak off" aura.
Avoid and observe. From a considerable distance and heavily armed.
4: That's us right there. Home sweet home.
Orbiting Absconsum, Dagger is our only safe heaven on this side of the board.
It's a strategic outpost that can benefit the APM in many ways. At the least, it could be used as a "hideout" in case the convoys pick some heat.
In the long term, I advise investing APM resources into R&D and of course, exploation of the planet below.
We've had a several hits and we know for sure something is hiding beneath the surface, but I don't have the resources to dig deeper. Literally.
5: The jumphole to Omicron Gamma. Our very own highway to Delta, it has it's perks, but as we all know,
it's the space equivalent of a sewer grate. All kinds of rats and roaches crawl in and out of there.
I suggest securing the area around it, but without revealing our true numbers.
Dagger doesn't have the manpower to repel a major offensive. Yet.
Now, we both know what "alien" tech can do and in fact, what it's already doing in the hands of the wrong people.
Although not 100% certain, it is possible we can find something of great value that will further the Core's goals.
And if not, we can use the planet as a test site for Nukes, or orbit bombardment techniques.
Maybe even train our elite soldiers planetside.
Here's the options I've came up with.
Option A)
Small science team, not a lot of defenses, skeleton crew on the station. We probe the planet all we want, but we do it real-stealthy like and no one finds out.
And when they do, it will be too late. We keep the APM transports moving to Rheinland and back and everything goes smoothly.
We should be able to handle any and all resistance, but I've reasons to believe there's more to this systems that meets the eye.
Unusually high number of Wilde ships means they have an outpost somewhere in the area.
Somewhere too close for comfort.
(My personal favorite option, by the way.)
Option B) Full sized APM science division and a defensive force to match it.
Will draw more attention, but it will get the job done much faster. We'll put that extra firepower to good use for sure.
The Coalition will most likely react as well, but they haven't flexed any major muscles yet.
All the military pilots will love this course of action, their hazards pay would go through the roof and don't get me started on bounties.
Option C)
Gear up for war and wipe out all competion (which ain't that much) in Omega-55.
Lockdown the Corsairs' backdoor into Rheinland and cut an important trade channel. I'm not talking only the Jumphole to Dresden.
I'm talking massive sector-wide offensive. We dispatch interceptors to 41 and 11 and put the hurt on their artifact trade and supply lines.
On the other side, we clamp down on Theta and we stomp their freighters hard. With supply lines down, it will be a war of attrition.
Of course, that's advised only in the case of a full on war with the Corsair empire. And only with them. The backlash would be devastating and we would certainly lose Dagger, sooner than later. But the damage that we would inflict would be far greater.
Oh and one last thing, I'd like to request that Herschel and her fighter escorts be stationed on Dagger station.
I'd certainly could use that piece of ancient scrap to make the place just a bit safer.

Sorry for delay, I actually had to study a number of documents before making up a deicsion.
I have to agree with you that option A is more prefecrable over the others. Naturally our best chance is to let bigger dogs around to weak each other first. Of course we are not ready to any massive advances so close to the heart of Corsair mainspace.
For now: Allow Reds and Corsairs to melt each other and accumulate more forces in the area. Not take any huge risk, this outpost will become very important installation in the future.
Meanwhile I will make a preperations of retrieval of my rule on Malta. There will be a number of pilitical and military steps to it. I need a stable south front, Jack and you are going to provide it. Once it will be done, Cosrair resistance will slowly go down.

Orders received, I'll make it happen.
PS: I've a friend on Malta, Senor Halsey. I'm sure he can help you with whatever you're doing, I'm interlacing his contact data into this message. He's a solid chap, I can vouch for him. Drop my name, he still owes me a favor.
