Daniel Browning was a child of a misantrophe father and a business crazed mother. He was born in 784 AS. on Willard reaserch station in California system. His mother was so addicted to her job, that she worked overtime even while carrying him, and even in her late months of pregnancy. She listened to no one about taking time of from work and finaly gave birth to Daniel on a christmass eve.
His mother and father were both top level scientists and new weapons technology reaserchers employed by the Goverment of Liberty. As such, they had very little time to spend with little Daniel and he was always in the hands of maids, always in the care of someone else, some stranger who was payed to take care of Daniel.
His parents had a one day a week of from work, so he did spend some time with them, but nearly enough. Not as much as every child wants and needs for proper development.
When he reached age of 4, he was already a little run around scoundrel, always making fun of reaserchers, hiding their stuff and playing hide and seek. Daniel was also fascinated by aliens from the start, so he was engaged in drawing diffrent alien races he could imagine. A talent for drawing alien pictures was revealed very early in his life.
By the time he was 7, Daniel was already a junior student of Sociology. He was very interested in reaserching society and cultures. Very early on he wanted to understand why society works the way it does. He reaserched goverment politics and laws and rules of diffrent political and non political organizations. During all this period he was still a scoundrel child, a missfit so to say. He always pulled some tricks on the scientists and even though being an excelent student, he always managed to get himself in to trouble, showing very little to none respect for the figures of authority. His beliefe was that even though someone maybe older, it doesnt automaticaly make them right in every way.
Being raised on a weapons reaserch station, Daniel also learned about weapons systems and explosive devices along with chemistry and physics. He showed a great interest for lasers, tachyon emissions and plasma based propulsion and weapons.
During the age of 13, Daniel was involved in an accident involving a small neutron explosive device that he put together himself. Half of the lab was destroyed and Daniel got away with minor burns. He got in major trouble and his parents were held responsible. They were forced to send him away along with his legal guardian Tamara Grendel. Tamara took him to planet Denver where he could continue his Sociology studies, but without any contact with weapons or explosives.
Daniel was still heavily engaged in drawing alien races, ship types, diffrent planets and imaginary worlds. His imagination was growing by the day. He gained understanding of diffrent political parties in Liberty, but there was no reaserch on the Rogues or the Xenos. Not as much as he wanted to read about them and understand why they chose their iife style.
At age of 17, Daniel finished Sociology school and he was prepared to find his place in the great unknown Sirius......
Not seen much of Liberty as of yet, Daniel decided to attend the basic flight school on planet Manhattan. He moved there and rented an apartment near the flight school.
Being a bright little scoundrel, flight studdies were a piece of cake, so he even found the time to secretly lcontinue his readings about explosives and weapons.
He met some interesting new friends there too. People who shared his views of politics and even showed interest in traveling around Sirius in search of themselves. Among those bright young students, Daniel found a girlfriend. Marla was her name and she was a flight control student.
Together they explored love they found in eachother. Daniels life was looking up towards the bright future.
Daniel finished basic flight school at age of 18 and decided to find a job, gather enough money for a Starflier and set to the stars, with Marla at his side, since she also wanted to explore the galaxy. After 3 weeks of searching, Daniel was finaly offered a job at the Pandemic Sociology school on planet Los Angeles. Him and Marla together scraped of enough money for two transport 2nd class tickets.
They rented a flat in the New Hope city where the school was located and Daniel begun his teachings while Marla was working as a private flight instructor.
2 more years have passed and finaly they saved enough money for a Starflier. Both of them reached a decision to visit Rochester base in New York system and then remaining Liberty Junker bases. It would be a good starting flight experiance for the both of them and Daniel could talk to the diffrent groups gathering there in order to deepen his sociology understanding. And since many lawful and unlawful groups conducted business at Junker bases, this was a perfect opportunity for him to hear their points of view. To learn and study their beliefes, was a dream come true for Daniel.
One month has passed and finaly Allentown was next and final Junker base destination for them. They rented a place on the base for a week. There Daniel met a strange friend, who shared his beliefes almost as if they were brothers. It was an outcast called Mathias Wallece.
Mathias told him his life story about being a decent citizen of Rheinland, untill he learned all of the ways and manipulations of the state afairs and business. He told Daniel, that he figured out the big state plan to manipulate the citizens and always hide the real truth from them. A simple truth that we are all just a number in the long line of numbers, bred only to be good money earners and spenders.
Daniel listened to him as being under some spell and Mathiases words were like a drink of water in the warm desert. Daniel finaly started to understand and decided to dedicate his reaserch to politics even more.
But he knew he would have to find work, and not on any planet, since space fearing jobs were much better payed than planetary ones.
Their week of rent was almost at its end, so Marla and Daniel decided to visit Rheinland where Daniel will try to find some space fearing job, while Marla will always be able to teach ne people how to fly civilian ships.
They set out for the stars once again, but this time destination was farther and more dangerous. The great vast space, called Rheinland...........
After a long trip to Rheinland space, Marla and Daniel reached planet Hamburg in the Hamburg system. Hamburg system was an early introduction to Rheinland vast space. There on the planet Daniel contacted the first office for space fearing recruits. Upon talking to recruitment officer, he was permited to contact the ALG base in New Berlin. The company wasnt in search of new employes but it was stated they might accept someone as a cooperative freelancer. This was more than enough for Daniel, who needed the money for his reaserch.
After the conversation with ALG representative, they were on the way to Dortmund Station in New Berlin system. Upon arrival, they were greated with respect and stationed in the guests room for the duration of the interview.
It took only 10 minutes and Daniel was accepted as a freelancing cooperative. He was emediately given a task to dispose of some toxic waste at the nearest waste burning facility.
He did that and many more waste disposal jobs in the following year, while Marla was working as a civilian freighter instructor on planet New Berlin.
They even gathered a substantial amount of money, but Daniel wasnt satisfied. None of the company representatives or the Rheinland officials could enrich his thirst for sociology studies.
They had to move on, and the only way to truly get to know society was to look at its deeper and darker corners of Sirius
For both Daniel and Marla, next step was the Omicrons.
So they bought a Spatial - Civilian deep space explorer and were on their way to the Omicron systems......
Marla and Daniel were on their way to the Omicrons. They made enough money to sustain themselves for a year or 2.
During this time they planned to explore society on the travels and maybe even make contact with aliens, which was Daniels most imaginative interest.
After a weeks peroid, Dresden was left behind and Omega 55 was the next stop. They had to land on Bautzen station for the jump hole information since space traders were reluctant to give the info.
After settling on Kruger base, they ate dinner while waiting for the official Kruger representative to arrive. When he finaly did, they engaged in conversation about traveling, society, sociology and many more things. In a brief moment Daniel noticed that even he was reluctant to speak of the Omicrons or how to get there. But after some time, Kruger officer decided to reveal the location of the Omega 55 Jump hole. He also told them to keep distance from planets of bases, since the Coalition didnt like people snooping around. He even gave them the coordinates to the Omicron Gamma from there and told them he wont show them further.
Now that Marla and Daniel knew how to get to the Omicrons, they finished up on the Bautzen base, and headed in to open space.....
They were 4k from the Omicron Gamma hole and Daniel was yelling evasive manouvers commands. Marla navigated through the asteroid belt to the best of her flight instructor abillities. They dodged missles and torpedos by an inch, but the ship was damaged from Tachyon gun fire. Finaly and barely they made a jump to Omicron Gamma.
Upon exiting the hole on the Omicron Gamma side, Daniel engaged cruise engines as fast as he could and set some random coordinates away from the jJump hole.
Some half an hour later, they stumbbled upon an unknown base, and with a heavily damaged ship, they had no chance but to risk it and try to find shelter there. As they approached the base, with in a few moments, strange shaped interceptors surrounded them and orded a complete surrender, or destruction will follow.
Daniel obeyed, since the ship was in no condition for yet another random escape.
They were brought on base, which turned out to be Skiros station, a Corsair territory.
Daniel heard about Corsairs from the Junker stories. They were presumed to be agressive and their society was deemed a dictatorship.
They were questioned on the base, about their pressence in the system, and upon explaining that they only wish to reaserch the Corsair culture and ceremonies, surprisingly the Corsair commander said it is ok. As long as they keep out of trouble and away from Corsair training areas. Certain parts of the base were also restricted for Marla and Daniel.
Daniel asked one more thing from the commander. To fix the explorer ship they arrived on.
The commander agreed but in return Daniel would have to work in the mining field bringing the Xeno Relics to planet Crete, for reaserch. Daniel agreed, since they needed repairs and this would also be a great opportunity for him to investigate the strange Xeno Relics.
Daniel heard of such relics in the past, but he never had the chance to examine one first hand.
Daniel begun to work for the Corsairs with a borrowed Essedarius transport.
During his work, he expanded knowledge on society structure and even the knowledge of aliens since the Corsairs were greatly knowledgable of them, and didnt hessitate to speak of them, unlike people in house space.
Daniel and Marla did good with the Corsairs. They made new friends among them and after his 2 weeks work in the fields, he was offered a well payed job as an escort pilot for the Corsair transports.
It was a simple job of escorting transports from the Xeno Relics field to planet Crete and back. After one year and Daniels 22nd birthday, the Corsair commander offered Daniel to join the military. Daniel refused since he was no fighter and he didnt have the stomach for killing.
After this refusal, tensions begun growing towards Daniel and Marla. They noticed strange looks in bars and heard people whispering behind their backs. Sometimes, Daniel even noticed military personel pointing fingers at him while talking in discresion.
One day they were approached by their friend Luciano. He met them in the Unlucky Soul bar on Crete and explained what was going on. He told Daniel that his refusal to join the Corsair military made them wonder about his future endevours, and that they are planing to keep them in Corsair territory, since they saw too much of the Corsair military operations.
Daniel and Marla knew then, it was time to move on. They were no longer wellcomed with the majority of the Corsairs. So Luciano devised a plan to get them away from Omicron Gamma.
Then Luciano took them aboard his Relics transport and set them in an escape pod. On his way back from the field to Skiros station, he made a slight course deviation and launched the escape pod in to the Omicron XI jump hole.
On the other side, Lucianos collegue was waitng for them. He tracktored them in and set the path for the Omicron Beta jump hole. Then he programed the escape pod for a direct flight to Galicia Reaserch Station and launched them in the Omicron Beta jump hole........
