During a routine patrol of the Sigmas, one of our pilots suffered heavy damage, and was forced to make an emergency landing on the Kumamoto, where the deckhands promptly repaired and refitted the ship with weapons from its armories. This brings us to the crux of the topic at hand. We've found the weapons of the Farmers may fill a niche in our own armories that was previously empty.
As such, we'd like to open discussions on the purchase of a large quantity of said weapons for our snub-craft. What we want out of this arrangement is clear, all that needs to be discussed is what you would like in return. We are more than willing to negotiate terms that will leave both our parties satisfied.
I just want to say that Kumamoto and any Farmer's Alliance base is willing to assist our Corsair and Corsair-affiliated brothers and sisters. Obviously if you wish to purchase a large amount of our weapons there has to be a monetary cost involved, but we have our own concerns with Custodi which we wish to raise. As you are probably aware, Planet Saigon is currently being contested between Samura and the Gas Miners Guild and now it seems you also wish to place a claim on it, along with the entire system which you call "Cyprus". This concerns us a little, not too much as we know you are very good friends of ours, but so is Samura and they are offering to allow us to commence farming operations on Planet Saigon if they manage to capture it. Maybe Custodi could give us a better deal if they were to capture Planet Saigon. We can all agree on one thing though; it must not fall to the GMG. It's why we have Battleship Kumamoto there; to stop them and/or Synth Foods. We ask you, in return for your right to purchase the weapons, to either negotiate with your partners in Samura regarding control of Planet Saigon or give us a much better deal than they are offering.
Mr Kobayashi, it is simply a matter of time before the Custodi takes Planet Nicosia. In regards to monetary payment, this can easily be arranged, and you merely have to name your price for the weapons required to outfit the snubcraft of our fleet. We are also immensely pleased to see that the Farmers Alliance welcomes us so warmly onto their bases, and this will only help our efforts throughout the region.
As for a better deal than what Samura is offering you, I can begin the preliminary negotiations with you now, but ultimately the decision rests with General Augustopolos and the esteemed Archon. For now, allow me to suggest that while the planet will be held by the Custodi, we are willing to offer the Alliance land with which to further your goals, safe passage through Cyprus, and continued business with the Custodi nation as we develop and cultivate Nicosia in such a way to feed all the people of the Dorian nation as well as our own.
As I'm sure you can understand, this undertaking will be immense, and require expertise not common with the Dorian people, native to a dry and infertile planet. The expertise of the Farmers Alliance, used to assist us in turning Nicosia into the breadbasket of the Empire, will cement your place as an honored ally, and open more doors within the nation than you can imagine.
Assisting the Custodi in this matter is not simply a business deal or a trade of favors, but rather the direct involvement of ushering in a new golden age for our people. I'm sure you can understand the possibilities for the rewards of such an endeavor.
Please send over a list of the weapons you wish to acquire and the quantity. Please note that our expertise in terraforming landscapes comes with Samura's assistance, their HydroGro fertilisers and Terraforming Gases are what allow us to do what we do. Obviously we don't want you to have qualms with them over who controls Planet Saigon/Nicosia. We also want to make sure we are using the Planet to feed our own people, not just the people of the Dorian nation.
We have already deployed a scouting party down to the surface of Planet Nicosia, despite an attack from the Blood Dragons[1]. We can easily overcome such difficulties when it comes to defending a planet which may be the future of our nation.
Regardless though, from the findings of our scouts, the planet does not need terraforming. Of course it will need a little bit of landscaping, but really: even if we used the ways of our ancestors, it would not take long and does not need anyone's expertise other than our own.
We have a planet in the Omicrons with over six hundred million people, most of whom can't get their hands on basic food supplies. Until we are able to ensure that those people are not starving, we will not accept anyone but us controlling the planet. On the other hand though, with your help, we will be able to accomplish this goal earlier and the sooner the problems of Crete are resolved, the sooner we will help you and Samura conquer the Kusari market with your own produce.
Custodi have already begun construction of a new Legate-class dreadnought which will be deployed to Cyprus in order to assist the Kumamoto in securing the system. Until the new ship is completed, our flagship, the CNS Andromeda, will remain nearby.
Regarding the equipment, I hear from my pilots that they found the Farmers Alliance cannon Vulture 4 to fit their needs well. As such we'd like to request 12 more guns, on top of the 8 that have already been fitted on two of our pilots ships on Kumamoto. I hope you can accommodate that request.
In case there are any further doubts, please forward them to me directly.
Yours sincerely,
Ίκαρος Αυγουστόπουλος
Icarus Augustopolos
General of the Custodi
I understand your need for Planet Saigon to feed your planet of six million in the Omicrons. We do sympathise with you on that matter. I do think, however, that the issue is getting far more complicated. We now have a Rheinland battleship, by the name of Bayern, which has moved into the system. The claims to the planet are currently; Kusari Government, Rheinland Government, Gas Miner's Guild, Custodi, The Brotherhood, Farmer's Alliance and Samura. We need to sort this issue out, the entire system will become a war zone and we don't desire that. Our recent contact with The Brotherhood suggests they also wish to take control of the planet and I am guessing you do not want to be going against them, so you must sort out the issue of which Corsair-affiliated faction will get control of the Planet. If you two were to go against each other, our relationship with The Brotherhood is far more stronger than it is with Custodi and we wouldn't hesitate to side with them. They have also agreed to give us a sizable chunk of the planet, which at the moment you're not offering.
In regards to weapons, we will allow you to purchase 12 more but we won't allow you to purchase anymore than that until those issues which I have highlighted are resolved. Please contact the equipment dealer on board the Kumamoto and he shall accommodate your request.
