Honored Shogunate,
there has been a longer period of silence between us, so I do hope that your fight to restore the legitimate form of government in Kusari has been largely successful.
Let me state, that it is a shame to see what the Empire has come to, in the recent years of Kogens warmongering and the following period of great instability. As the people of Kusari have bowed down to the Gallic invasion force, we do have to consider them a potential threat ever since Kogens unjustified declaration of war.
We have, as you likely already know, recently been able to restore our control of Tau 44. A first major victory against the Gallic invaders. However, this causes us a major problem. The passage from Coronado to Tau 44 is vulnerable to attacks coming from our numerous foes, most of whom we share with you. This has to change.
The Crayter Republic will soon carry out an initative to solve this issue. What we need to know is simple, do you consider the Tau systems as a part of your sphere of interest and will you turn against us, should we be forced to fight against the remnants of Kogens military and the republican naval forces once again?
Should the answer to both be negative, then we should consult further on how we could help each other.

There has been a silence between us, the stance between the Crayter Republic and the Shogunate is a complex one. The recent actions taken by yourself and the Kijima clan have gone a long way to improve it.
The Shogunate considers all of Kusari, with the exception of Hokkaido rightful Dragon space. Taus, 23, 29, 37 and 44 are considered part of our extended territories of interest. We have no desire to occupy these systems nor create additional or unnecessary conflict in them. This simply means that Dragon clans such as the one you have already become acquainted with may reach out into those systems to create new opportunities for themselves and the Shogunate.
We have no intention of showing hostilities towards the Crayter Republic, in fact, we are hoping for the opposite. I personally believe that we could foster a great and fruitful relationship between us. the conflict between Gallia and Bretonia has left us on the both on the same side, so long as Bretonia remains cordial with the Shogunate then I see no reason why we could not become close friends.
Arigato,
Heung Hideyoshi,
Shogunate Treasurer and Representative of Shogun Hideyoshi.

Mister Hideyoshi,
thank you for your honest answer. I too, do hope for a close friendship between the Republic and the Shogunate.
We may soon be forced to take action in Tau 29, in order to ensure a secure corridor for our people and our allies. Be assured that this will not have any negative effects on your interests within the region. I believe that this action will further strengthen the bonds between us, as it weakens groups being a common inconvenience.

Not that long ago you advised me that you would keep me informed of the Republics next step, I assume from your silence that there has been no progress. If this is the case I would like to offer an extended hand of assistance, is there any way the Shogunate can support you with your cause?
Arigato,
Heung Hideyoshi,
Shogunate Treasurer and Representative of Shogun Hideyoshi.
