Location: Cape Hope, planet Toledo
Subject: Rescue of Captain Leigh
I was on a routine patrol when I picked up a distress call from the Hetshepsut, I immediately began the long, radiation filled journey to it's location; Omega-58.
Along the way I suffered more radiation damage than I previously planned for, so I diverted to Freeport 1 in Omega-3 as it was the closest friendly station.
While there, I met a Blood Dragon by the name of Amaraki, who also picked up the call.
We both decided it would be safer to fly together and shortly after were joined by a pilot of the Order secondary fleet, Redwolf-2. The three of us set course for Omega-58. Omega-55 was suspiciously quiet, as was Omega-58 for a while.
As soon as we entered Omega-58, the weapon platforms activated and we picked up a faint signal in one of the fields and we flew toward it, looking around for any sign of wreckage or survivors.
In pretty short time, we spotted some wreckage and the pods of some of the crew. I pulled everything into the hold and we decided to vacate the system immediately.
On our way back, we picked up a transmission somewhere in the system, asking for help. It was obviously a trap, as I'll prove toward the end of my report.
When we entered Omega-55, we picked up another two suspicious transmissions.
Deciding to ignore them, we made our way directly to Freeport 1 where the survivors would get medical attention.
We were followed by Saerieve, the ship who called for help in Omega-58. It was not damaged as the pilot previously claimed it was and the pilot provoked Amaraki into a fight.
The ship may not have been alone, so I took Captain Leigh and the rest of the crew off the Freeport and flew as quickly as I could back to Toledo.
Redwolf-2 and Amaraki stayed behind to cover my escape.
The rest of my journey was thankfully, completely uneventful and the Captain and his crew are either resting in the medical centre or being debriefed.
