Subject: Patrol Report
Greetings pilots,
All I can say is...this day was tense, very tense. It started off as usual, where we had to chase out some intruders in Omicron Minor, including a Liberty Naval Carrier named the Sacremento. Now, normally we would've just taken it out due to the Kill-on-Sight orders on all Liberty Naval Ships, but since we were outgunned...we had to do the next best thing. When I say we, I mean myself, Captain John Arkantos, Lieutenant Storm, and two Secondary Osirises known as Dead.Sea and the Oathkeeper. Anyway, while we were trying to persuade the Sacremento into leaving, the crew abandoned ship and fled back to Liberty. The commanding officer, named Christina Veers I believe, remained behind to steer the ship back to Alaska after she agreed to leave. However, because of the absence of the crew, the ship was subsquently attacked and infested by Nomads.
Commanding officer Veers sent out a distress signal and we rushed to Alaska to intercept the ship. Commanding officer Hunter, being a strict adherer to our motto, "Protectors of Humanity," led a boarding party to board the Sacremento after we managed to stall it to find commanding officer Veers. However, the Nomads suddenly integrated with the Sacremento and began pulling away, forcing us to pursue it. Luckily, our cruise disruptors and the Sacremento's intermittent engine failures, most likely due to the interference of the Nomads, enabled us to catch up with the ship each time it pulled away. By now, we had attracted the attention of several Liberty Naval Ships, but they stood down when they realized what we were doing, although one of the hastier Liberty Naval Ships managed to use his Solaris Turrets to pound a few holes Lieutenant Storm's ship before he stood down. The end result of this was Lieutenant Storm pounding on his ship in exasperation and anger as he saw the extent of the damage and his repair bill. Anyway, commanding officer Hunter managed to get Veers out, but we lost a boarding team in the process. Also, as Captain Arkantos and I were defending the Oathkeeper and the Sacremento from Nomad Fighters, we were overwhelmed and our ships went down. Luckily, the remaining officers in the Oathkeeper managed to tractor in our pods and take us and commanding officer Hunter to Evora Shipyard in Omicron-100. Meanwhile, the Sacremento was blown up by the surviving boarding party right before fleeing in hijacked Guardian Fighters.
Commanding officer Veers and the Oathkeeper's crew were treated in Evora Shipyard's infirmary immediately after the operation. Luckily, commanding officer Veers was rescued before she was completely infected and was able to be purged of any Nomad infestation. While she remained on Evora Shipyard for post-treatment analysis, the Oathkeeper returned to Omicron Minor and dropped off Captain Arkantos and I on Planet Toledo, where we got new ships. Afterwards, I collapsed into my bed, exhausted, before waking up several hours later to write this lengthy report.
Sincerely,
Captain Eric McCormick
