Summary:
Security of Order space in the Omicrons is undoubtedly paramount to the Order's ability to fulfill its mission of preventing Nomad incursion into Sirius space. In this time in our history, central Order systems must be protected from not only Nomad influence, but also several factions of peers; namely, the Core and Auxesia.
The southern access points to Order space, through the Outer rim, poses several potential incursion points. Ranking the "danger" of a system by the number of jumps it would take to gain access to Omicron Mu, the map of the Sigmas, below, has been marked.
As we can see, Sigma 59 and Sigma 17 require one jump to gain entrance to Zeta, and have been scouted / patrolled to ensure the security of the space. The systems requiring an additional jump all funnel through these systems, and will be patrolled with a lesser priority.
Flight Report: Sigma 59 Patrol
Ensign Tevnor and myself, Ensign Kebok rendezvoused outside Taba Starbase in Mu, and accessed Sigma-59 through Omicron Zeta. This route is common knowledge for Order pilots, depicted in the flight manuals received during training.
The Jump Hole that connects Zeta and Sigma-59 is deep in a precarious-to-navigate asteroid field on the Sigma-59 side. This may limit the ability for larger, capital-size vessels from utilizing this point of entry. Our duo then proceeded counterclockwise around the edge of they system.
After passing over the hidden base of Samura, Yurasu Station, the wreck of the Uwajima can be located in the bottom-left corner of they system, tucked below a peculiar, obsidian-like planet of planet Toyohara. Ensign Tevnor was able to obtain a classified piece of weaponry from the wreck, which has been turned in to Order researchers at Alexandria.
The GMG stronghold of Niigata Star city, and its impressive, as well as beautiful, array of Solar Panels was also observed, with little in the way of traffic.
In the northwest corner, we picked up and very peculiar signal; it seems to be a covert listening post / communication satallite. It's the first I have seen in this particular configuration, and does not look like Order, or Nomad, technology. Given the history in this system, it may be GMG-related. Most curiously, thought, it gave a faint sound of bar music, a popular tune in Libery space. Ensign Tevnor took a closer look as well, not trusting his scanner.s
Locations of jump holes to Okinawa, Sigma-21 and Sigma-19 were also verified by sight, though cameras were unable to capture these due to interference.
Complete Navmap:
The coordinates of our recon flight have been uploaded and synchronized with existing data, to give an updated NavMap for the Order's Neural Net system.
This concludes the first of several patrols in the systems classified as a threat due to their proximity to Order space. Reports on Sigma-17 and Sigma-13 in process.
