This is Xavier Vorbarra, reporting from assignment in Omicron Delta.
As you all know, we've had reports of a massing of Bounty Hunter forces in that system, and today we went out to take as many of them as we can down.
The strike force comprised of four Nepthyses, myself, admiral Nightfire, and Commander Tovig Kelt.
Immediately after the jump, we came upon a massive bounty hunter force, with capital ships and a total of 5 bombers.
It appears they were expecting us to bring a capital ship force. Bringing only fighters proved to be a brilliant decision, and we immediately engaged and started mopping them up.
After 10 minutes, one of their bombers fell down due to a weapon malfunction. Bugger mined himself it seems.
Right after, I took down one of their bombers.
A few minutes later, another two fell, and the last one began to run away on his afterburners.
We of course pursued, spraying him with a rain of fire and slowly decreasing his hull.
It turned out he was running for the Freeport.
We kept purusing, scraping his hull more and more.
As we came closer to the No Fire Zone, which if I can remind you states that you must not commence hostilities within it, but does not prohibit continuing them if someone is trying to escape into it, Admiral Nighfire gave the order not to worry about it and keep firing.
Commander Tovig Kelt refused a direct order from the Admiral, and pulled out.
I proceeded to tell him what I thought was coming to him, and yelled at him to obey the admiral's orders.
I cannot say who is right and who is not, but it is my, Tovig's , and any other officer's duty to obey the chain of command.
Tovig was upset that I told him to shut up, which I feel I was fully in my right to do, since he disobeyed a direct order in a time of war, which if I am correct, is often punished with the death penalty.
He kept arguing and disobeying the admiral's orders, and we had no choice but to pull out.
I request a formal hearing to question the acts of myself and Commander Kelt, and for a just ruling to be brought, and punishment to come to myself and/or him, however you see fit.
The chain of command must be respected, I say, and therefore this has to be made clear.
On a brighter note, the fight was a complete victory. It just seems we have an internal problem to settle.
