"I take it you speak of the Sol Project," he inquired. "I did read the initial transmission but did not answer as I knew that you were coming here."
He smiled with a light snicker as the music played. "It's funny. For years I preached, back when I wore the robes of diplomacy, about why the sleeper ships left Sol, to find peace elsewhere after over a hundred years of war, forgetting why it began in the first place or for what they were fighting only to come here and years later, start fighting again." He smiled a little brighter. "I know my history of Sol very, very well, both through study and birth....if that makes any sense to you."
He stood up as she moved over towards the disc player. He just watched as she found herself involved with it. He immediately recognized the next artist. "Rachmaninoff," he said calmly, "music for an empire to both be built to and fall by but beautiful nonetheless, the before mentioned Confederation of Freeports fits this description hence why I never joined it. No Zoner government has ever lasted."
He watched Alessa swaying to the music. It had been a long time since he had danced with a woman. Yes, this was a professional sort of meeting but he greatly admired her appreciation of the music they both loved. He walked just behind her, "Ma'am," he asked with his old world southern accent, "may I have this dance?"
Surprised by this Alessa turned around, watching towards this good looking gentleman offering his hand. A friendly smile appeared on her face. Only a few people knew about Alessas secret hobby. "Of course, sir." John's hand felt warm, but also a little dry and raw, Alessa was certain that this man saw and experienced a lot things in his life. Surprisingly, even without a word, they began to dance an elegant quiet Waltz. The whole scenery was of a good feeling and harmony. Whilst they moved their bodies Alessa continued the conversation. "Not specifically John. I am talking about the Zoner Consensus, though you are correct, this will be somehow the ticket for very fast and far distance travels and the Sol Project is entirely in ownage of the Zoner Consensus.
However, what do you mean with your history in Sol?" For a moment Alessa stucked in her movement. "Were you one of the frozen people?" Alessa was aware about the rumors and legends that people from Sol were still frozen somewhere and sometimes appearing.

He kept her dancing as they spoke. For him, it was soothing and relaxing. He never fully understood his own arrival in Sirius so he never could explain it.
"All I remember is waking up to a bright light over my head," he explained as they danced, "laying on a table with several people around. It was weird. I could remember everything of my life yet I my last memory was me lying in a bed in a sanitarium. I mean, all of a sudden I find myself with equipment well beyond anything I could remember."
He paused a moment in thought as they slowly continued their dance, "Frozen?" He looked into her face, "I don't know."
"I would like to know more of the Consensus though and of the Sol project. You have my attention."
Alessa seemed to be confused a little. "Do you remind the location of your awakening?" Both slowed down their motions as the conversation took the attention from the dancing. "The Sol Project, well this, I would say, is my lifetime destiny. It is our venture. We use to develop and construct a new kind of spacegate technology that will open us the opportunity to do a travel to the Sol sectors and hopefully even beyond. It is entirely independent from the houses or other shady organisations" Alessa and John noticed the slow down, but they stayed at the slow speed. The spinning of John felt to be in slow motion, which turned Alessa to smile and quietly laughing. "And the Zoner Consensus, it is the source and platform for our finances, investment, projects and interests such as mine, the Sol Project. I have hoped that you have interest into taking a seat in the Zoner Consensus."

Doc just shook his head. "I don't remember where, only a sort of waking up. There were several people around me but I couldn't tell who. You know, my sight was blurry and I was rather blinded by bright light. All I remember is one them saying 'Yes, we did it' and then some small talk."
"It was weird," he continued, "I could remember everything of my past. The people, the places, events, everything and yet, I had no idea where I was or even when." He then looked down into Alessa's face, realizing that by now he must sound insane so he shifted subject matter.
"The Zoner Consensus," he thought as they continued to slowly dance, "so long as it's not a form of government then I might well be interested."
Alessa noticed that John felt slightly awkward talking about this topic. Wearing a smile she stepped on his foot. "Maybe you are a time-traveller." Her smile turned to a huge grin as she was certain doing just a joke. Ignoring the small dance mistake both stopped moving as the track ended. Waiting for the next track Alessa went over to the bar and filled her glass again. "No John, the Zoner Consensus isn't a government...Everyone, every person, even every organization within the Zoner Consensus are his, her or its own entity and only decide and take a consensus for their own."

He looked up a little and chuckled, "A time traveler....." He then looked back down to where Alessa was, "....hardly. I suppose it'll forever be a mystery as to how I got here."
When she went to fill her glass, he followed for the same purpose. He took the bottle of what she was going to have and served her.
"It sounds a little like the old Council of Zoners in that it became one Zoner, one vote." Finished filling her glass, he did the same to his own. "What a mess that became. Every Zoner voted their own interest or in many cases, the interest of their friends that weren't Zoners." Finished pouring, he headed toward where they were dancing before as the music again began to play.
"For example, if a Zoner was sympathetic and friendly with the Corsairs, their vote was of Corsair interest, not of their own. It became a problem in the long run. THAT, Alessa, is what I am afraid of."
Before he would return to waltzing with Alessa, he put a log in the fireplace and stoked it. It made for a somewhat relaxing background. Someone on the outside looking in would think it was romantic. Still, a relaxed environment made for easier discussion. He then turned to Alessa, put his drink down and motioned again to pick up where they had left off.
"Now, I don't oppose the Consensus, I am just worried about it staying true to what it was intended for." He thought a moment and then asked, "So where would meeting take place?"
Worried about the mentioned example Alessa took a short drink. John seemed to be concerned, even with being in a just beutiful environment. Certainly a contrast to the topic of the conversation. Alessa heartly agreed the next dance and didn't hesitate taking John's hand and pressing the other to her side. "The meeting is already running, right here. It seems I didnt explain correctly. There are no votes in the Zoner Consensus. There isn't a governmental form of a democracy. It is a social network. You can hear opinions, you can bring forward your own opinions, mostly everything is only in you own responsibility. However you can find supporters for your way in there and only if there is a consensus, means all voices share an opinion, it may turn to a unified path." Alessa was still unsure if she elaborated correctly, therefore she for some awkward reason used to lead the dance which just went to a silly accident

Doc listened carefully as Alessa explained. It made sense. It wasn't a government of any kind but it was a social medium for influential Zoner groups to discuss matter and figure out solutions.
"I think I understand," he answered. Quietly, he enjoyed her touch...her company...but kept things in topic. "So it starts here with us making it happen. The Sol Project and Med Force Enterprises having begun finding common solutions for common problems. I must admit that it's a refreshing change over an organized government. I will only suggest that we keep it for groups using the Zoner way and not individuals. THAT is where the problems began for the old Council."
He kept her close as he was enjoying her presence. It was relieving to him but didn't want to cause her to be uncomfortable. "Do we need a place to call, say, a home base or something? A regular place to meet? I mean right now, if I'm not mistaken, we're the only two members although I might have an idea or two for membership."
It felt pleasing to be that near to John, it was close to intimacy, but it didn't redact Alessa from the reason of her visit. "Not at all John, the Zoner Consensus already has some.... Well, this might be not the best term, but let me call them members. Some of them you should know like Hans von Goeben or Dankien Moebus. Aside from the Sol Project, the Seraphim and the Edgeworld University are also organisations owned by the Zoner Consensus. Alessa stopped moving to the classic music for some seconds. Her face signifed the entire seriousness about her motivation and the path she felt mandatory for the Zoner culture. Releasing her left hand Alessa wiped her forehead. Needless to comment her pause, she got back joining John in his element."I give you an overview of the Zoner Consensus later. Currently we only reside the south wing of Corinth Research Station and the Sol Construction Site, which we want to establish as the Consensus Multiplex." In that moment Alessa thought about purchasing and getting control over base in hold of the Confederation of Freeports, but she saw that John was to say something.
