"Dankien Moebus," repeated Doc as he stood still, looking up and smiling before taking a step back in thought. "Hans von Goeben," he then said with much the same result. He thought a moment, taking a sip of his drink. "Dankien and I go way back. It's been a very long time since I've seen him." He then looked at Alessa and stated with a satisfied look, "That's a man I'd take a bullet for."
He then shifted his focus. "I worked briefly with Han but schedules kept us from making any real progress." He then nodded, "I would be honored to be able to work with him again." He then raised his glass of Scotch, toasted them and Alessa and consumed it. "I see a good base in this Consensus."
"Is Corinth up for purchase?" he inquired. "I wanted to base Med Force Three there but the CoF had other ideas." He thought a moment and added, "That is funding I would contribute to."
Alessa was smiling and joined John by taking her glass. "Yes, we have a very good basis. In all aspects." Alessa took out a small PDA and gave it, John. "Look here. The whole south wing is still occupied by us, even when the Edgeworld University has been changed to a mobile institute for now. There is still a lot free room you could use for Med Force Enterprises." Alessa walked over to the chair and grabbed her jacket. Pulling it over she moved towards John and laid her hand on the PDA. She briefly touched his hand and stayed in the position for a moment.

He studied the report. He nodded and was content with what he read. "It looks like we have a place to call home then. I will have Med Force Three begin mooring there over that powder keg named Freeport 11. " He gave a snicker, "Not long ago I proposed to the CoF about administering that base for medical purposes. They said no. I guess that in a small way, I got what I wanted."
He paused a moment as her hand touched his and seemed to stay there. He swallowed and looked at her and then corrected himself, "...WE got what I wanted."
At this point, the day had been long but productive. Darkness would fall soon. "Alessa, did you want a guest house for the evening or I can set you up here in the main estate if you like?"
Alessa checked her schedule for next day on her pad. "Hmmm, I'll need to leave very early tomorrow, I don't like to disturb you at any time. The guest house would suit well." She took her things and stored them into a bag and waited with a friendly expression for John taking her to the guest house. "And yes, it was a very productive day. It makes me happy to know you on our side, on my side. We can direct the Zoners and the mankind overall into a better future." Emptying her glass, she reflected the day, the conversation and the company with John and she nodded thoughtful, but satisfied.

"Do not ever think that you are disturbing me," countered Doc. "If it would have been a disturbance to have you here, I would not have offered."
With that, Doc gave Alessa her coat. "It's a bit chilly between here and the guest house." After placing her coat over her shoulders like a gentleman would, he put on his own. Taking her arm, he smiled and simply said, "This way, Miss."
The guest houses were old style but well built stone cabins with solid beam reinforcement inside. They were well insulated and warm. A fireplace and wood were provided for the guest who may like it. A kitchen with all of the amenities, walk-in closet and a king sized bed were provided. A loft was also built in as added extra measure. Doc put her bag down on a table and released her arm.
"You should have much of what you need here," he explained, "food, water, heat, everything. I've had dignitaries stay here for long stays so do enjoy it."
He motioned his arms as if to say "look around."
Alessa was pleased again by John's gentlemen attitude, she looked through the room. It was a room of her taste, the good old vintage environment was perfect for slowing time and having a relaxing night. She turned to John and gave him a slight kiss on his cheek. "Thanks for that, John. It is perfect for having a good night." Moving towards the bed she dropped her coat. "But for now, would you be kind and give me a little time to rest. It was a great evening, thank you a lot."

He was slightly taken aback by the kiss. He wasn't expecting that. Yes, she was attractive and yes, she made him feel relaxed but the kiss was unexpected. "But for now, would you be kind and give me a little time to rest. It was a great evening, thank you a lot."
"Of course," he said with a kind softness. He had a stunned look on his face as he looked at her. Through his stare, he noticed her as she dropped her coat, a coat that didn't do her body justice.
He then shook his head to snap out of it saying to himself, "John, it has been a long time. Easy."
He stood by the door and placed his hand on the knob, "Listen, I'll get an extra blanket, pillows and some wine. I'll be back in a few minutes."
It was a little surprising that John suggested or rather decided to continue the evening. She looked through the room and found some candles. Luckily Alessa carried a talisman, which was a very old lighter of her father. After lightening the candles, she dimmed the light and the room appeared vevy romantic and comfortable. However there was something she forgot, but Alessa decided to lay gently on the bed and wait for John to arrive.

He returned several minutes later with the blanket, pillows and wine that he had mentioned. He set the bottle down on the table and put the blanket and pillows in a chair at the foot of the bed. It was at this point that he noticed her laying down. She was tired but comfortable, laying down to relax a moment as evidenced that she was still in her cloths of the day. She was every bit the lady. Her jeans fit just right, not too tight and her white blouse was slightly unbuttoned at the top. He gave a gentle sigh and a smile as he looked at her and finally, he just couldn't help himself. Years of being alone and for the first time since her death, the thought of Midori was no longer there.
"You truly are a beautiful woman," he said to her gently. But, as fast as he said it, he then felt wrong as he was trying to keep things professional. Perhaps that was his problem, not opening up.
"Dammit I shouldn't have said that," he muttered as he went over to get two glasses and began opening the wine bottle.
The situation seemed to be awkward for John, but Alessa washed it away with a charming smile. She felt very a little amused, but also flattered from John's statement. "I hope you don't say this to every woman you allow to stay for a night." She stood up from the bed and moved over to John and picked up the glass in a slow and even pretty erotic motion. "And if I am honest, you are a pretty handsome gentlemen aswell." At that moment it was obvious that both shared a lot sympathy towards each other. Not only sharing in a professional way, but also in a personal way. Alessa touched John's arm gently and indicated him to fill her glass. Eventually nervous about her enchanting expression John's eyes widened and he slightly harrumphed.
