Biography
Born in 795 AS on Planet Junyo in the Shikoku system. The elder of three sisters, much of her time was occupied watching her siblings, and later, joining pearl and fishing boat crews. She joined the Kusari Naval Forces out of school, where she was singled out for officer training. After a year and a half, she was commissioned as a Santo Kaii (Ensign).
She was involved in the Kusari-Bretonian War from the very start as a pilot officer with the battleship Yamaguchi's 115th Hikotai fighter squadron. Due to chronic officer shortages, she was fast-tracked to a command tour aboard a gunboat. Due to exemplary service, she rapidly ascended to the rank of Santo Kaisa (Lieutenant Commander). It is around this time that she struck up a close personal and professional relationship with fellow officer Akio Takenaka.
Honda soon found herself and her vessel in the middle of the chaotic Gallic invasion of Tau-31. She aggressively defended two successful evacuation convoys of Kusari troops and expertly directed a bold counter-attack against a pair of Obstinate-class battlecruisers, destroying one and damaging the other with only a small force of gunboats and fighters.
Sore for skilled officers after massive losses in Tau-31, the KNF promoted Honda once again, making her a full Nito Kaisa (Commander) before placing her in command of the destroyer KDS Chokai.

Biography
Alaric was born to a well-off working-class family on Marne in the Kingdom of Gallia in the year 794 AS, or 708 AGS. The Council uprising, which occurred during his early childhood, forced him and his family off-world. Although his father was able to secure work on the hot, polluted industrial world of Amiens, their comfortable economic situation was left behind. At this point the newly eldest of two brothers with an older sister pursuing work, Alaric divided his time between school, watching siblings, and traipsing through old mines and scrapyards with his friends.
Amiens would be no royal seat for his family, and their peasant status and income built a yearning for glory and prestige within a young Alaric. His father, a staunch patriot, instilled a love of country and reverence to the Roi in his son. When Alaric was not adventuring or brawling, he walked with his eyes turned skyward, that perhaps a new life waited somewhere beyond.
A chance, perhaps, to become something new. To eat, and wear good clothes with the rich, fortunate, and high-born of Gallic society far away from the weary labors and poverty of Amiens.
Generally a good student and kept particularly fit by long days of working, fighting, and exercising to kill the time, Alaric was one of many merely above-average cadets accepted to the Ecole Navale Royale d'Amiens as the Marine Royale Gauloise began to swell its ranks in preparation for the invasion of Sirius.
