Item Designation Polstari Syndrome

Object Class: Treatable disease

Item details: Polstari Syndrome is an infectious disease named in memory of its most famous infectee, Alan Polstari. Its current sufferers are at all levels in the Police, Navy, and Intelligence Services just about anywhere, and its vector is unknown at this time, though believed to be waterborne. Further study is necessary.

Documented Symptoms:

• Loss of sense of humor
  
• Incompetence in piloting and/or command
  
• Resistance to rational thought
  
• Inability to comprehend finances
  

Treatment: The single most effective means of treating Polstari Syndrome is to destroy the ships of those afflicted with it. This is a temporary solution at best, but under the circumstances, it's the best that can be done.

Doc Halite's Note: Whilst we do our best to cure the Houses of this disease, we will eventually have to find a nonviolent means of protecting those innocent victims of it, who are merely doing their jobs. Until then, we'll be stuck cleaning out the deadwood from the House authorities as best - and as violently - as we can.
