In the next few days I'm going to be moving out of my parents home and renting with one of my mates. Thing is, while he has the interwebs organised for a desktop I'll be needing wireless should I want to move around the house with my laptop, study in my room, etc etc..
Soo yea, obtaining a wireless router will be up to me. Can anyone reccommend a good brand or even a particular unit/model for me? My budget's around AUS$200. I'm considering replacing my laptop during this year too, so wireless-N is an option (though I dont see me using above the capablities of wireless-G..)
Awesome with the latest firmware, and you can load other firmware if you have special needs. Good range, good speed, good penetration (we live in a flat and share internet connection with our neighbors downstairs). Recommended, although documentation is somewhere between non-existing and atrocious.

Sorry about getting back to you guys so late.. I've just moved out so.. yea, going to go buy the router in the next few hours (it's frustrating being stuck to a desk only because of an ethernet cable..).
I've actually heard some really good things with that linksys router Varyag, but I've also heard that the newer versions of the model have half the RAM in them making them unable to run tomato - what you really want running on it. They're also rare as hens teeth now, or at least here in Australia..
I think I'll be getting a netgear one - they're relatively cheap and are sold everywhere, but I will lookout for the wrt54g as well. I'd prefer that one but I'll have to make sure I get one with the right amount of RAM..
