Void. Emptiness. Nothing to be seen, nothing to be heard and nothing to be touched. All of sudden, a human-like shape emerges out of nowhere. It shines bright and fills the emptines with light. It gives freedom, salvation. Another simmilar shape appears. This time it's different. It burns with the cold fires of hate and gives the feeling of eternal imprisonment in self.
"The darklings... They hide deep in their burrows. They are blinded by fear and harnessed with swords of hatred."
Hernan wakes up from this unusual dream. He looks towards his right hand, gripping an amulet. It is sun shaped with a text craved in it. "What is lost?" it reads. Hernan's father gave it to him a few days before the murder happened. Although the death of his closest upset him, he does not feel hate.
The rash on his hand has almost spread over his whole arm. This strange disease appeared suddenly and without a propper reasonong. Doctor Synk thinks it's an eczema of sorts, but it solwly escalates. It starts to make Hernan nervous.
He enters his spaceship and takes off, for in light he sees the cure. His Rapier starts heading straight towards it.
Omicron Major. The system always made Hernan relaxed although the Light doesn't like his presence there. He is enlightened, but he's not the Light itself. Therefore he hides near the mysterious planet every time. He gazes far into the shine and ponders. Alone. In the voids he's not belonging to.
Sometimes he meets his Light comrade, Melia, and together they wander. Together they observe the magic of the world. He is not alone in these moments. But sometimes he gets odd feelings. Imagine staying in public and watching all the good people. They are all wearing white clothes. The people are observing you now. In their eyes you see a slight concern. You're dressed half white and half black. The concern in their eyes... It's eating you.
You feel guilty for not being perfect. But is it right to be perfect?
Being perfect can be understood in ways that differ. One can understand perfection as being the best at every possible activity there is in this universe while having the best possible traits and qualities. That's how the darklings understand perfection. But the true perfection is something else. Seeing the truth is perfection. Understanding the peace is perfection. And mainly, Light is perfection.
Let us return to our previous question. There are two sides of a coin. the dark side and the light side. This coin represents our universe. If everything was perfect, the coin would lose its dark side and only the light one would remain. However, the dark side, which made up a whole half of this coin is gone. Does that mean that the universe... would lose its whole half?
The Rapier leaves the Omicron Major system and emerges in Omicron Lost. It is not far from the Genesis hall, the place where Hernan works. People would guess it also represents his home at some point, but it does not. Where is the actual home then? That he doesn't know. Perhaps he does not even need one.
The ship heads straight for the docks of the Genesis hall. Hernan needs to visit doctor Synk due to his health issues. The rash has been spreading really fast until his whole arm became all swolen. It is not an eczema. It's a disease.
Ever since his youth, Hernan acted as a soldier. He fought alongside the outcasts for many years. He was as dark as everyone else. Taking care of his family was his priority. But suddenly, all changed on that fateful day when Hernan was rescued from the claws of corsairs by the light itself. He changed.
