Hispania breakup

I noticed how the Corsairs seem to be more Greek/Mediterranean and how the Outcasts seem to be more Spanish/South American (Mainly Columbia), so I got to wondering if race had a deal in the split up of the Hispania sleepers. Any opinions on this?

You have an interesting point; I've noticed the same thing myself.
The base names of the Corsairs seem to be more Mediterranean. This is explained by the fact that although they came from the Hispania, they were dubbed "Corsairs," which were the name of a certain set of Mediterranean pirates, by an unknown individual, and the name stuck. Their ancestry, however, is still the same as that of the Outcasts, which explains why they have ethnically similar names.

However, with some creativity, maybe you can make a good RP story out of it...
A faction of Greek Corsairs who snuck onto the Hispania? Who knows?

talking of that, is there any other mixing on the sleepers? dublin and the mollys would indicate some irish on the bretonia, and the canadian systems some canadians on the liberty. What about the others. There's Eindhoven depot, but everyone complains about it. Are there any dutch or austrian or whatever on the Rheinland? What about Koreans on the Kusari? I've seen a couple of korean names on players at least.

As far as I've seen, there aren't any Korean bases/objects etc in Kusari, but I'd assume Korea was absorbed into the Kusari empire on Earth, or maybe they were absorbed by the Coalition from North Korea, dno.

The main reason was due to Coalition interference, I think.

I doubt it would have anything to do with race, as most languages and cultures started in Europe/Mediterranean sea area.

Sixth Sleeper ship that was destroyed was the French Sleeper Ship.

Just to go a bit more into detail on Kurosora's post...

The Hispania was one of the five sleeper ships sent by the Alliance. She was badly damaged by Coalition saboteurs before she reached her destination and around half of its occupants used escape pods to abandon the ship near the Omicron Gamma system, later becoming the Corsairs when they settled on Planet Crete. The other half remained and drifted with the ship, founding a separate colony on Planet Malta in the Omicron Alpha system, later becoming the Outcasts.

Today, the wreck of the Hispania still drifts in orbit around Planet Malta.

Simply, atleast from what i can tell, they blamed each other, not knowing what group Really caused the damage to the sleeper ship which im sure did more than just damage the ship (ex: human life being lost in the process).

But, bottom line, they hate each other, nothing short of mod-owner declaring the two factions becoming allied in some future version of Discovery will change it.

And yeah, the Corsairs encompass lots of Mediterranean groups. Just look at Tripoli Shipyard. Tripoli's the capital of Libya! And then there's the Fez, which is obviously named after the Moroccan city. I just wanna see a base/battleship named the Algiers now...
