Disclaimer and thesis:

This review is neither intended to be used as an indictment of the project nor as a statement of advocation for what has swiftly become the most technically exhaustive field engineering project within the last twenty seven years of Unioner History. Nor is it to be viewed as an operational analysis of any events that occurred within the Hudson and Shikoku star systems, the motivations behind said events, the parties behind them, and/or any other event beyond the physical evaluation and test of the BIFROST heat exchanger, MMJM jump module and the wider technical integration of the afformentioned systems within the hull of the Sirene. The Freeman Drive Commune advises the reader that the drive test was conducted within a peacetime operational sphere, not a warfighting environment, and that the drive has not been tested in a live combat environment, nor under the full exposure of the Sirene’s electronic warfare defence grid, which may impact containment processes arbitrarily and to the wider degradation of system function.


Outcome Analysis:

Thermal decomposition rates occurring within tolerable levels. Under a low pressure environment, thermal decomposition of water reaches a fifty percent decay rate at three thousand degrees or higher. However, as inter-atomic bonds weaken, the resulting vapour becomes more energy efficient to place under compression, which in turn makes the gas more receptive to cooling cycles upon the interaction of the gas with the cryocondenser system. Due to the extreme temperature of the steam, the steam must be held within electromagnetic suspension. With max potential liquid storage volume of the Sirene utilised, the vessel hypothetical can contain enough coolant to jump four times successively without suffering thermal overload, however, re-tanking coolant immediately afterwards would be strongly advisible and operationally necessary to reduce the inherent risk to the operational lifespan of the surrounding ship. Heavy water freighter mules may be essential to ensure jump continuity and to prevent exchanger module thermal runaway. Performance is reduced from theoretics, which stated that a re-use rate of ten jumps could have been attained, however, in practice thermal management proved too unpredictable to reach the required operating temperatures for repeated and sustained renewable jump drive reuse.

It is the professional opinion of the BIFROST program team that the BIFROST drive is in a sufficient state of readiness to be employed in the evacuation of Pacifica base, and, to the best of our knowledge, will perform within an acceptable margin of error of its design specifications, passed to a thirteen to nine vote of the technical advocacy board. The team requests an immediate return to testing rigour upon the success of the evacuation, as the technology lacks sufficient maturity or miniaturisation for fleetwide deployment.
