COMM-ID: Eliza Valdez Subject: The Aliens and the Apostates Priority: High
Buenos dias, representatives of Malta,
I am contacting you on behalf of the Maltese Legion concerning a rather unfortunate turn of events. Yesterday a combined force of nomad ships and their 'human' servants was sighted by our pilots near Malta. Because we did not kneel to the aliens and their servants, they had the audacity to attack us right in front of Malta, to teach us and anyone else unfaithful to them a lesson. For guests in our sovereign space the aliens showed little respect.
But that is hardly something I'd bother concerning the National Council with, as it's something we could easily handle on our own. What concerns me more is the fact there are Maltese ready to betray their own flesh and blood for those aliens. While we were defending ourselves from the alien menace, two captains decided to show their devotion to their alien overlords by shooting us as well.
The Maltese Legion might not agree with all echelons of Maltese society, but we would never go as far as to attack fellow brethren, especially for the favor of a foreign life-form. We fight for the freedom and prosperity of Malta and it's people and would be ready to give our lives, before kneeling to an alien overlord that wants us to be his vassals. And while I understand the situation is tricky with the now declared open hostilities from the Order, I sincerely hope the National Council would not bend a knee to the nomads just so they could have another ally.
I've salvaged whatever logs and recordings I could of the event and attached them below for your discretion and await to hear the Council's take on the matters.

To Eliza Valdez,
I would say Buenos Dias, but that would mean "Good day." And this is not one of those.
While the strategic departments of the National Council have attempted to maintain a balance within those who are religiously aligned with the Nomads along with the beings themselves as to not cause a dramatic division within the civilian populous. It seems that the nomads have already made their first moves and we're finding ourselves almost facing the scenario we attempted to quarantine.
Due to the close proximity of the Nomads and other conflicts we face, we attempted our best as to not create another group to find ourselves exchanging fire with. But with the political tensions so high, it seems we're not able to avoid it. We're assembling as many personnel as we can who are willing to fight against these beasts, we're willing to combat them as our goal was to separate church and state... While potentially removing the Church all together.
This act of betrayal warrants action against those who oppose the freedom of individuality we all obtain from our birthright as Maltese people. And for people who worship beings who wish to strip that from us as a race? This is something we can no longer tolerate. The National Council has always been for its people and nation as a whole, not for lifeforms that pose themselves as false gods.
