From: Anatoliy Grachov To: HCSTA Alexey Novikov Location: Zvezdny Gorodok, Novaya Moskva Encryption code: R2H-0M84 Subject: Resignation Comrade Comissar,
I bid you a good day. I suppose you are more than aware of the situation in Omega-49. I will be honest: I've been a loyal soldier to my people, and if you ask about loyalty, there is no doubt - amongst the Pripyat's crew, I am the only one who wouldn't doubt his actions for sake of our own.
But I digress. The matter I am contacting you is indeed relevant to the Omega-49 conflict, or to be exact - our position in it. Whilist I agree that Cretan presence on the planet and in the system shall not be welcomed, there are other, certain conditions that put doubt in me. You have to excuse me, but I fail to find the Bretonian stance on the system relevant in any way, as it seems that the most evidental and reasonable solution to the conflict was completely ignored. Nonetheless, grasping on that NAP with Brits, our Revolutionary Army has decided to stick with them. And here I think, what's the point? Both you and me know that Gauls won't stop in New London, they were already sighted in Omega-49, and if Brits colonize it? These french scoffers will be one step closer to New Moscow. But what's the point of telling people the truth if they don't follow it.
That's why I liked being in reserve. I didn't cared about nobody except for my own crew and our primary task were the squids. Now? I don't even know who's my enemy anymore. Is it Cretans? Brits? Or is it maybe the Field Marshal himself?
Hereby I dismiss from my post as Major of the Task Force, with the digital copy of Resignation Pact assigned to this transmision. The physical one is already being delivered to your office, you may also find an another copy in HQ aboard Pripyat. Vsego dobrogo, tovarish comissar.

Comrade Grachov,
Although it saddens me deeply, I understand that time has its toll and there should always be room for Patriots and valiant Protectors of the Motherlands to enjoy their time with family or for pursuing own dream. You served the Red Banner and the Commissariat, as well as the Military and later on the Expeditionary Corps well. Having no objections to how you performed throughout the service, I see no reasons to reject your plea for resignation. Henceforth, you are a civilian and stripped of all responsibilities and obligations of a cadre military of the People's Republic. You still are listed as a Major in reserve, should the emergency arise.
I would also like to draw your attention to the Code of Conduct that the resignation act provides and I genuinely hope you shall adhere to it. It will sadden me to discover I have to dispatch a team of Commissars to remedy any possible misconduct of our fabled hero.
Good luck in your endeavours, comrade Grachov, and remember that our service never truly ends.
