An annoying thing that I noticed about the Coalition snubs is that, one texture, dsy_coa_light3.tga, seems to cover most of the model, except the fins.

even if it looks close to Rogues, originaly it's Coalition.
I wouldn't really say it looks like rogues, but it 'kind of' looks like rogues.
The reason I think that texture looks bad is because it's blocky, looks overlapped and non-uniform. The Coalition has proper shipyards and technicians. So if it doesn't look like one collective piece I would personally think it'd look off.
Where as something like a rogue/junker ship should look like it was glued together, surrounded in a layer of duct tape, microwaved in Puerto Rico, then slap some sticks and engines on it and you're good to go.
I don't think Durandal saying a "proper reskin" isn't in any way actual feedback, as it's just an insult. what you showed there was a "proper reskin" as it did it's job of re-capturing what the ship should look like in someone's eyes. That being said I personally think a black/charcoal grey shipline would look cool, but that's just my personal opinion.
Bare in mind I don't play coalition so my opinion on this has very little actual value, which is why I gave my thoughts over telling you what 'should' be done.

Seconded. It looks too Rogue-ish because it's too messy, too "busy." If the white was clearly white then it'd stand out compared to that tan color the Rogues use. Alternatively, use white accenting like some of their ships had. Remember, not all of them were all-white.

x2, why not just go back to how the shipline was in .86, best looking imo, got revamped from the 3 polygons of .85 (that somehow got re-added??) but before the emoworld edgefest that was the black reskin
