This is Jason LaGarde, former Commander of the Aland Defense Force. I'm contacting you in the hopes that you'll be able to help point my people in the right direction.
The assault on Aland tore the Defense Force apart. Most of our people were either killed in action, taken prisoner aboard the shipyard, or scattered about the Omegas. I'm still looking for the rest of them, but in the meantime I'm hoping the main body can point us to where we need to go next. My command ship, the Gibraltar, is currently moored at Madeira in Omega-47, a distance away from the chaos in '3, and I've had words that the San Marino's detachment made it to Cambridge. I'm attempting to regroup, but as I said it's been fruitless so far. Not a lot of my people made it out of Aland.
Whatever advice or instruction you could supply would go far out here, as what remains of the Defense Force is currently in a lapse of rage over what happened. Many of them feel we need to take the initiative and fight back, and I'm of a mind to agree with them on some accounts. Still, I'll ask what the main body would have us do. Meanwhile, we'll continue to restock our forces and watch of Madeira for the time being.
Aland defense did all they could, and we have proven that we aren't so easily pushed around by the great powers, even though we have lost the shipyard.
We have divided most of the remaining forces into two battlegroups centered around the carriers Comoros and Rockabill. I suggest you join your forces up with one of them.
Comoros has taken refuge with Hessians and is moored at Wolfsburg shipyard in Omega-54. Her orders are to probe Aland's defensive situation for counterattack, harass Bretonian lines in the Omegas, and be prepared in case one of our other enemies makes a move on our other Omega stations. Those forces would be closest to you. We don't want too much security presence around Freistadt, so as not to cause diplomatic issues with Rheinland.
Battlegroup Rockabill has moved north to defend South Shields, with the assistance of the Royal Navy fleet in the system. The Bretonians have not so far made the station a priority for attack, but given its proximity to the front line and the Ark Royal fleet, we certainly cannot consider it safe. Passage north is risky, although Bretonian control over Omega-49 and Dublin is light enough that a small strike force should be able to slip through with proper scouting.
As a third option, you could group up with the small garrison at the Hood. We need solid intel on the Dublin system since it's part of that linkage. In addition, the system may be a viable point for counterattack, with Molly support. This may well be the best chance they have for complete control of an independent Dublin.
Given its position, the Hood will likely need as much added firepower as we can muster. The Gibraltar and San Marino's close proximity to Dublin should allow for us a quick rallying point as well as a secure and defensible base of operations. I'll radio ahead to the Hood and alert them of our arrival, as well as see if I can't locate more of our people.
I thank you for your swift response. I will keep you up to date should anything of importance happen.
Safe flying.
